I just bought one just like this off CL. 1993 KLX650 with ..... 214 miles!
The guy said he put 200 miles on it at bonneville chasing his race bike....and another 14 pushing it around his shop getting it out of the way.
Battery, spark plug, oil change, and then...
Good Find, but I think the color scheme may have induced nausea, thus the low miles! Love those early 90's paint jobs

I couldn't think of a color that wasn't already on the bike...the gauges are purple with lime green indicators...
Sad part is the paint scheme is growing on me. I barely hurl when I open the garage now!

At least it doesn't have a 10 page list of "upgrades" that increase the value to well above the MSRP of a new one.
I agree. I laugh when I see sellers who think their bike is worth more because of the bling they've added.

Funny thing is, it looks indistinguishable from a 2008. Or a 1988 for that matter.......
That is one reason why Harleys are so popular. People like that their looks don't change, unlike most Japanese bikes where the look is completely altered every couple of years.

An outstanding waste of perfectly good machinery.
You must have missed the brand name - this is a Hardly. Does NOT fit the "perfectly good machinery" label.

I picked up a 1972 Honda earlier this year with 1009 original miles. Still has the original tires and probably still had the original oil in the crank case. Sadly the rust is not original, there is a little rust for every year since 1972.

That is if the bike had normal mileage on it, which must be about 30K miles.
A low mileage bike is obviously worth more.

Interesting thought and I would generally agree about bling but if it is upgrades, it does increase the value IMO.
Would y'all expect to pay private party price for a well sorted, low mileage bike? I guess a better question would be would you sell your well sorted bike for somewhere between retail and trade in value?
My ZX has had numerous upgrades and getting more, it's at Ohlins USA getting a rear shock made for it and the front forks rebuilt with new internals. New front rotors are on order and when the wheels come off, ceramic bearings are to be installed. The engine is done and the only cosmetic changes have been a hugger and undertail with fender elimination kit. It has low miles @ 13.5 k. Retail is $4395. Would you sell it at that price? I know I wouldn't.

It's important to get a bike with original miles. Those refurbed miles really bring the resale value way down.
