I'm NOT home. I'm at a small motel in Martinsburg. Wife's bringing the trailer tomorrow. Rear tire gave up the ghost.
Good times! Awesome ride on Saturday led by JJ! we hit it all; twisties, mud, gravel, and all at a nice pace in the rain. Kick ass time!!! Thanks again Jammin for leading a great day of riding!

Made it home about 2:30 after a nice 157 miles. I'm looking forward to the next one already!
Sorry about the tire Chris but you know we're going to give you hell about the trailer.

Rear tire gave up the ghost.
I told David that tire wasn't going to make it home. Sorry I was right.
Be sure to take pics of the trailer / bike reunion. I'm sure they missed each other these past few days.

Fred, cords all the way around it. Misjudged how much life was left in it by a few hundred miles. This is my first set of these; Angel STs sitting just a hair under 8k miles. Guess j can't complain. I looked at it before heading down and said to myself, "I'll need to replace that in about 1500 miles". I'm 1200 into this trip. Woops :-)
Sara, I expect nothing less of course :-)

Who is that ugly dude?
Made it home to Ephrata, PA at 8:15, JamminJere, Mustang and I took 16 to Marion, 61 to 219, then 39 from Marlinton to 250 where Jere went his own way, Mustang and I took 42 to Harrisonburg and hopped on 81 to make some time. Both my low beams went out so I was running high beams the whole way home. Also picked up a horseshoe nail in my rear tire, some sticky rope thanks to Jere took care of that. Didn't lose a pound of pressure the whole way home.
Just under 1300 miles on the weekend, all but about 300 of them twisty goodness! Nice meeting all the folks I never met before, Andrea and I had a great time. Hope to see some of you at the winter meet in Berkeley Springs in January!

Pulled in at about 5:45pm after getting in some good riding today too. Yesterday turned out better than Friday
I was able to piece the Multi back together and got some good riding in with Matt (natahala) John (falcofred) and today with Ed (Mattel on Multistrada.net)
Here's the damage report pics
The pic of the bike Saturday morning after sleeping off the lowside exiting the BRP. Long story but in short, I hate rocky exits at speed
The rash:
Ed had stopped by in the morning and we used his garage to fix my yard sale. A few drilled holes, bolts and zipties, mascara and blush and the Italian beauty cleaned right up
A little Sunday action on 58 in VA
We head over to the Snake and Matt Whom has become jealous about my crash ballet abilities decides to try one too!
First time that bike has been down in over 50K miles.
And for those counting,,, He scored a 9.8 on the dismount

Leisa and I were home by 11pm. We stayed off the Interstates completely and after leaving Smoker,Andrea and Mustang on 250 we headed back to 220 and made blistering time to Petersburg, Took 55 to 259 to Mooresfield, and then old 55 over the mountain and then sat for 20 minutes in stopped traffic for something bad ahead that was letting nothing thru in either direction that we never got a look at.
Finally doubled back 10 miles and shot up to 50 and picked and choosed my way until I hit 15 above Clarks Ferry and headed north from there. Stopped for a late snack and to zip all are gear back together it was getting damp and cool. We had about 605 miles for the day had a great romp up 61 from Tazewell to 219 to Marlinton for lunch at the Greenbriar with great company.
Saturday was a great ride in the rain! We left Sparta and went over and stomped the Snake from Mountain City to Shady Valley TN. and back. Then shot up to Damascus and Took 58 back thru the State Forest to Mouth of Wilson and then "across country" back to 93 to 21 and back to the hotel again.. almost 200 miles of "very spirited" riding on wet roads.. Kudos to all the riders for running that pace on wet roads without incident.. We had Smoker/Andrea, DAK0716, JustCallmeChris, Mustang, 4Power, HappyRiding, Cablebandit/eacatwork in tow behind Leisa and I and I hope everyone had as good a time as I did.
Today's ride home with Smoker and Mustang was just an epic ride of twisties.. I'm glad we had the day all together, I enjoyed the route and comraderie.
It was great seeing everyone again, and meeting new people and putting faces to screen names that I've seen on here now for years..
Thanks to everyone putting this together and I look foward to seeing you all again soon.

Tammy, Rue & I bugged out from Sparta at 7 am and made it home at 6:45 pm. We wanted to avoid slab and cities so I plotted a 425 mile, not-too-boring backroads diagonal route northeast across Virginia to Route 301 above Fredericksburg. Weather was cooperative all the way to Maryland.
Great to see everyone again; looking forward to next year's meet.

Ok, NOW I'm home. Left Sparta at about 9am on Sunday, headed up the Parkway. Had breakfast at the Mabry Mill restaurant, got back on the Parkway and tore it up pretty good. Saw ZERO police and damned few cars, which was very nice. Around the Music center was a little crowded... like 10 cars... but once the road opened up, they were left well behind. Took the Parkway all the way up to Staunton, across 250 to I81 with the intention of making it home 3 hours later. I had a late lunch in Woodstock, VA at the Arbys and noticed cords just starting to show. Crap!
Eased the bike up I81 to Martinsburg (about 60 miles) and hit the Krista-Lite motel immediately off the exit. Walked next door to the McDonald's to grab a sweet tea and ponder my choices. They were: get a new tire the next day, call the wife to come get me, call my brother to come get me, or keep riding on it 'til the tire died completely and then make the call for them to come get me. By then the cords were showing all the way around the tire and were starting to wear through. I figured 10 more miles and I'd be walking. It was 17 miles to I70. Called the wife and initially she was going to come get me Sunday but then kids, logistics, etc., got in the way. So... I grabbed a room at the motel ($48.15 total) and crashed for the night.
Wife was supposed to get on the road at 8am to come get me. My daughter was home sick, and my trailer was at my brother's place, so by the time everyone got their acts together, she didn't get on the road until about 10 - 10:30am.
Early afternoon, I had the bike on the trailer and we were heading towards I70, via 9 to 340. About 20 miles outside of Frederick the charging system light came on in the van. We made it to Frederick and I stopped at the Costco to call my brother. My plan was to have him take the wife, daughter and trailer home, and I'd stay in town and fix the van. Some quick diagnostics indicated it was the alternator; crap, I'd already replaced it. Well... 4 calls to local parts houses showed no alternators in stock anywhere, at least a day or two to get one. Grrrr... then the guy at Costco suggested the new Advance Auto Parts store... I called, it's in stock! W00T! we head over there.... except we go to the wrong Advance and the car won't start again.
I ask the guy about getting the alternator delivered and he went to the mat for me. Loaned me all the tools I needed, got the alternator there in TWENTY MINUTES! Just as I was pulling the old unit out, the driver showed up with my new unit. Got it back together and vroom, the battery had recovered enough to get the car started. On the road, just in time for rush hour traffic up 70 and 695. I got off onto I83 up to MD138 and took an alternate route home. A very nice ride, actually.
I got home about 8pm and immediately went to work on the bike I have in the garage for someone. I wanted to get it done tonight, but that didn't happen, so I'll finish it tomorrow.
So, I'm home, hot, tired, sore and still... great time riding all weekend.
What's that saying...? "Adventure is adversity retold at leisure."
This weekend was quite an adventure. I already have another pair of tires in stock, so I'll spoon on new rubber tomorrow or the next day.
Oh, and I have GOT to go on more rides with Jammin'... that man picks awesome roads. Even the wet, muddy, slurry-covered ones.
