In our story about Aprilia’s worst kept secret, we told you about the Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 and its new 1200cc v-twin. Here is the first official photo from Aprilia. The bike is essentially a mega-supermoto with more than 130 horsepower and 85 pounds/feet of torque. Many of the details are in our earlier article (link above) based on a copy of the owner’s manual that had been leaked several months earlier. Expect the final unveiling this Fall at EICMA.

I dont see anything in the technical data list on that site but it sure looks like it has ABS to me. Maybe a switchable system so you can turn it on or off ??
How the hell do you pronounce it? door soo duro ?
I still have an eye on the Ducati Hyper 796. That would be a fun little toy for a few bucks under 10 grand. The power of this Aprilia is just awesome and just more than an old man like myself needs. Sure like the white and black color but Ducs little Hyper is available with that as well.

Looks like it would be a lot of fun.
Not very practical for my needs, though.

I almost pulled the trigger on its little brother last year - the dealership in Western MD was practically giving them away. But I couldn't make it "fit" into my riding scheme. Much too nice for a commute bike; limited aftermarket options for luggage or windscreen.

I pronounce it the same way (Door-sew-durr-oh). The Hyper 796 is so much freaking fun, I really really want to buy one (but luckily have been able to convince myself that 3 bikes is too many).

fwiw, I added one to the garage and it's excellent. Not a trip machine, but agile, comfortable, and great fun in the mts. At under 8k delivered from McHenry MD to my door, I consider this a steal. And it sounds GREAT.

See the slotted ring inside the front brake rotor? That means ABS - there's a sensor reading those slots as they go by. If they stop going by, ABS kicks in. Maybe called a reluctor ring?

What did you add for under $8k- the 796 Hypermotard? Thought they were way more coin than that. Very nice.

That's $1,600 off the sticker price with free shipping. They have leftover Shivers for $6,999.00 also. Nice prices.

This bike is more and more appealing compared to the Hypermotard. The only compromise is weight, but you get more power and liquid cooling...
