I once spoke to a fellow that had one who wished his had more power to accelerate out of tank slappers.

I had a 97 TLS, sounded great, I never thought it was slow, but I know for a fact my C14 handled better than the TL. Maybe it's because the corners seemed to come up faster.

The reason BMW's boxer twin has been around since Napoleon marched on Moscow is because of what it's good at.

You're talking to someone who doesn't think a TL1000 is powerful enough. Rolleyes I'm guessing he's not a huge boxer fan.  Bigsmile

If it is going to be a sport bike, It should make you want to hold on.  I have a KLR and a Versys and a Concours 14.  I was looking for something that pulled harder than the C14.  The TL 1000 is not that bike... It is cool looking, and sounds great, but not much of a thrill to ride.

TL 1000 = Fast looking slow bike.

I want a tl1000.  I think they are one of the best looking bikes ever made.  I was going to buy this one, but it just does not have the giddy up that I was looking for.  Dam dam dam dam.  I can't stop thinking about it.

Which the TL is good for, I preferred my SV650 on the turny roads.

Handling can be fixed . Especially if you don't pay that much for the bike.
If you need the extra rush of more than 115 hp, Just buy a GSXR. Shrug I never would, but you have to feed you demons.
BTW, my bike has 85hp at the rear wheel, and I have no intention of selling it for a very long time. Inlove
Oh yeah, it handles flawlessly.  Bigsmile

This is true, and I'm sure an upgrade to the suspenders would help, but that motor was too much for the frame.

It was fun to wheelie out of the corners though. Thumbsup

Hell my RZ350 only makes about 70HP. Come chase me down some mountain roads. Horsepower is overrated.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/wibornz/06-06-09_1912.jpg

tired of the peg dragging, i wanted more lean angle.  I know about downshifting as I like quick downshift and pulling the front tire off the ground as highway speeds.  Which is something that the tl1000 will not do.

RZ350 what a great bike.  I used to ride one back in the late 80s. What a fsun bike that was.  I can have fun on just about any bike.  The KLR and the versys are lower hourspower bikes and thy are great fun.  Matter of fact if I could only have one bike, the verys would be right at the top of the bikes to have.

I was and am looking for a bike that is brutally fast and handles well.  It is not something I need as it would be a 4th bike.  It also would have to be a deal.  You see I do not want to  put plates and insurance on a bike that is simular to a bike that I already have plates and insurance on.

Sounds like you want a lightly used 1000cc four. Probably something circa 2005/2006 would be cheap and light and handle well. Pick the one that suits you best for ergos (or can be made to suit you) and rock on. Wouldn't have the sound of a twin, but the brutal acceleration would be there. GSXRs and ZX-10s were known for having really strong low/midrange power.
