MTS 1200 Exaust tip removal for rear tire change

Ok, I got almost 4000 miles out of the stock rear tire on my MTS 1200 S Touring.
I'm attempting to get my rear wheel off for a tire change. I've read on this site that the exhaust tip needs to be removed in order for the wheel to clear for removal.
I've got the allen head bolt removed, the black shield off, the tip is loose as I can move it slightly from side to side and rotate it some, but it will not come off.
I know someone else here has done this, any advice?

Ok, so I just needed to walk away from the bike and post to Sportouting.net.
Once I went back I discovered on the bottom of the exhaust is a pin and a slot in the tip. You have to rotate the top of the exhaust tip outward away from the bike then slid it off.
