I have been without a second bike for a while. Old Japanese 250s might fit the bill as a winter hack.

Anybody know anything about this model?

Yamaha srv250  http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/yamaha/yamaha_srv250.htm

PS: hack in Yurpeen does not mean a sidecar outfit. It means an old piece of shit that remains usable.

By appearances, it looks to be a powerplant that would some day grow up to be a Virago. Shrug

Did that thing ever made it to the 'States...?

No idea. But they look pretty and there's a cheap one not far from me.

A new thread, perhaps? What reaches Yurp but America is denied?

Lots of cool stuff.  I rather like the Honda Hornets.

That is changing, though. We're getting the naked FZ8, which I didn't expect, and the Super Tenere, which, hot or cold on its reception, is still a risky and cool move to bring over.

Yes.

Over here some knucklehead would have it on eBay for $1500 extoling the virtues of its awesomeness and power and (granted) rarity, and "PRICE IS FIRM NO HAGGLE PLZ THX".

That's gorgeous.

That bike is far too nice to ride in salty slushy English summers  winters.

Get it, butt then also get a real hack.

That's a sweet little bike!  Thumbsup
I've never seen one of those over here, are they common there in the Olde Country?

Common sense?  You guys still use that over there?  How's that workin' out?

Over here we mostly have knee-jerk reaction based on whatever's easiest right now and damn the consequenses.   Wink
