Yes, stop, take some time, and look at the horizon.  Cool

some of my pics.

18 expansive view pictures
2 trees

That about sums up the high plains. Somewhat a slam to the lack of trees, but to see the positive side of it - a nice counter perspective to the mountains (filled with trees and often "short" views due to a blocking mountainside). A good place to stretch the eyes.

When did you take them? Some have nice green while others are quite brown.

Lest I forget: About where?

Thx

Over many years.  Probably most are Kansas and Nebraska, but I think all the states of region 3 are shown.

Hey Daniel....have you ever ridden NE29 from Mitchell to Harrison? I did in June and encountered a huge Black Angus heard blocking the road for about 300 yards. Interesting to say the least picking my way through the mamas and bleating calves. I regret being too chicken to grab my camera from the tank bag. Anyway, that is a very remote stretch and very beautiful in that respect. I enjoy your pictures. Thanks.

Yes; that's an interesting road.  The whole sandhills region of Nebraska is pretty amazing.  Hills that look like huge ocean waves with patches of standing water between the caps.  These days, the land isn't used for much more than grazing cattle.

This shot was taken between Mithell and Harrison:
