OK....Oilers will be the most improved Canuck team, and maybe most improved in the NHL.

I heard about this Sunday night at a Coaches meeting but didn't see it (or go looking for it) until now.

There are some classic lines in that piece... "My Bauer Vapor X has flex which allows me to bend it, like I used to bend you over the couch."

I am guessing that my entire team will show up with Vapour X's w/87 flex in the hopes of getting to the PB right where mom keeps it.

For a book length read from a western perspective on the same topic I recommend  Midnight Hockey by Bill Gaston.

It got lame at the end, but the first half had me laughing out loud.  Peter plays hockey on Wednesday nights (er, and Friday nights) and I think we've had that exact conversation.  "You're going to be at the rink until 2am and will tear up your hamstrings!"  Lmao Lmao

PS: The stick in my cube at work is a Vapor XXX, but my flex is Junior 52. Sad

PPS:  Go Sharks!

Magic.

The only move I have that was on display in that video is  the fall down and slide into the boards.

The Oilers are playing all of their first round picks since the lock out!!  Looks good on their scouts and development system.

Their scouts used to be the key to the Oilers and brought the "Glory Years".   Then they lost their way ... remember who we got for Gretsky? (me neither).   Hopefully this is a trend.

Only if they have a quintessentially Canadian kid as their new captain.

Horcoff is from Castlegar ... making him C is a good idea. I do no know him personally. But the family is known and I hear they are worker bees.

little known facts:
-Lizzabet and Alphabet   Inlove   attended the Oiler's (and Gretzky's) very first NHL game back a whole lotta years ago

-Lizzabet is from Horkoff's home town   Smile
-The BB&B is hosted in  Horkoff's home town     Beerchug
-Granddaughter Ryah  (now 3 months old) was sporting an Edmonton onesie last night    Inlove (until she drooled too much and her daddy switched her into a Flames onesie)     )   She also sports a Toronto onesie at times to keep the peace.

Yeah Edmonton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very close friends with his uncle. Know the Horc's very well. Been to Shawn's house in his absense, met his wife and even found out she was pregnant before Shawn did.   Wink(He was in San Jose at the time)

Very grounded folks. His uncle (a very good friend) was one time invited to try out as a pitcher for a team in the major leagues, but he had just got a job in a pulp mill a couple of days before, so he declined the offer. (even in his Sr. years he can throw a wicked ball).

The whole family is very grounded and the nicest people you could ever meet. Shawn never did let the bright lights blur his vision. Met his wife while attending the University of Michigan where he graduated on a hockey scholarship. In his final year there, he walked away with just about every hockey award there was before he came to Edmonton.

He shows up to play every night, and even through the very bad years here never once pulled one of those famous NHL Player Diva moves. He plans to stay in Edmonton until retirement.

Imagine standing outside the terminal building in Castlegar & looking across the river. The Mountain you see is pretty much the Horcoff family farm which they still work a bit.

The vid here says it all...
