I voted for the KLR.  Good for a dirt road and not very good at anything else.  Kind of a jack-of-all-trades and master of none.  I rode one once and it was underwhelming in every way.

I voted for the FJR, but my vote is really for the Connie14/FJR.  Besides the newest Kawasaki, they're a very similar motorcycle.  They're great for high speed touring, but I wouldn't necessarily call them 'sporty,' though they're definitely 'sporty' compared to other machines in the 600+ pound range.

Anyway, they only get my vote because you hear about them all the time.  They're very common machines, and I personally like talking about more unique machines.  The FJR and C14 are quick, comfortable and reliable - why talk about it?  Lol

Yep, having ridden the KLR and the DR 650 I wonder why the KLR has become so popular and the big DR not-so-much  Headscratch

Most bikes nowadays are so good in comparison to what was sold in the 1980s that, it's really, really hard to overrate a bike by much.

I would pick either the FJR or the beemer because their riders seem the most sensitive to criticism  Bigsmile

BMW. Particularly the 1100.

I'd have voted VFR too, if I could.  Smile

Because the DRZ-400 is better than both.

Is the Duc Multi getting slammed because of all of the problems owners are having with it? Bad rear brake, key fob, ABS, ECU, fairing cracks, center stand etc…..

I challenge the concept that any motorcycle is "Commonly discussed" at STN.

Voted KLR because it would be the least likely bike for me to own on the list, but really it's quite capable at doing what it was intended to do.  And I happen to like my VFR so  Twofinger  Bigsmile
