Although I've never seriously considered a Harley for my own stable, one that continues to intrigue me is an Electra Glide or Road King police bike. Or if I found a really old model (like a Duo Glide), that be ten times cooler. Something about them is just nostalgic and pure, and seeing the movie "Niagara" recently (1953, with Marilyn Monroe) with the motorcops kick starting their bikes made me look into them again.

This particular one, however, seems a bit over-priced, wouldn't you say?

Are you thinking about this thing or just window shopping??

Looks like it had been a very cool bike. I have no idea what all the mangled bits would be worth and it seems odd that it was left sitting around for a couple decades and then restarted in the manner described..... Trying to be nice here, but it sounds more like a Nigerian Bank scheme than a genuine $15K bargain. I'm probably wrong, but def a buyer beware if not inspected by a real expert. yrmv

I'll bet someone will pay it.

In running order, I bet the price isn't out of line at all for its relative rarity these days.

But mangled... oh HELL no.

Agreed, he'll get is price.

It IS way too high IMO, but someone will develop a case of gimmegotchas, and write a check.

Now if he had had working police lights on it, maybe the guy wouldn't have turned l left in front of him!  Lol

And no, I wasn't seriously considering this particular example for even a SECOND.

(Though I agree with everyone who thinks that somebody will eventually buy it. Then again, who knows? He may have to sit on it... maybe he's listed it before and hasn't gotten takers but is stubborn. I guarantee he didn't pay 1/4 of that for it 20 years ago and it wasn't smashed up back then!)

I'm thinking about 1500 bucks would be fair.
