I recently sold my Softail Custom and moved to this 2008 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. It's got 14K miles and a Rinehart true dual exhaust.

Dang that's pretty!

(you do know you could've bought a Kawi Voyager instead, right?   Razz  )

How loud are those pipes?  My V&H slip-ons with the 'quiet' baffles were too loud.

Nice. Get rid of the heel shifter and there is actually some room on that left floorboard. The 2008 still has the flexiflyer frame, but it's not all that bad. I have 20k on my 2008, and I'm looking forward to the next 20. Having a new baby in the house has cramped my trip opportunities though...

How loud are those pipes?

The Rineharts have some bark, but they're not too loud. The seller gave me the stock exhaust.  I can always go quiet, if the thunder starts to annoy me.  Your question is ironic. Last night I watched the Southpark episode on noisy Harley riders. Cracked me up.  Bigsmile

Hmmmm, I do like that.

Looked at this earlier.

Made fun of it in another thread but I do like it. How comfortable is the sitting position on your hips? When I sat on this one it felt like my muscles were starting to cramp up. It looks like all bikes of this type both domestic and euro have the same ergo.

John like anything else it works for some, doesn't for others and still some just need adjustment time.

For myself if my legs are out so that my tailbone is taking all the pressure I'm a mess in a few hours. Bit on the big harleys I just find that keeping my feet toward the back if the floorboards was perfect.

The big harleys have you in dinner chair 90* angles more than legs-out cruiser or flying-c position.

If you're experiencing muscle pain that's just conditioning and you'll get used to it. If you're feeling pinching or burning that could be nerves and that means spinal or joint issues and the position definitely wouldn't work for you.

My Softail Custom had forward controls. I prefer the Electra Glide's 90-degree position. It's a better position in the event I need to quickly maneuver the bike.

Very nice!  I'm debating on either a new(er) Road King or Electra Glide.  The Bandit ain't doing it for me.  Need to get back on a Harley.
