Here's your chance to say "I told you so" when Honda announces the MSRP for the CBR250R.
This is a link to the bike for those living under a rock: http://powersports.honda.com/2011/cbr250r.aspx

I'm thinking well north of 4500, but just below 5k.

Since this is the company that brought us the $15,599 DN-01, I'm going to guess $5149.

That was my first reaction, too.  But considering that the 230cc Supermoto Honda was $5399, I'm not sure.

If it's over $5K, it won't be a great seller.  Definate benefits over the EX250.  But people won't spend much more for a bike they plan on trading in/selling a year or two later.

I'm gonna say between $4001 and $4500.  That puts it right in the same neighborhood as the MSRP on a Ninja250, with a little headroom to pay for the ABS and FI, neither of which may cost all that much if sourced from existing parts in the bin.  That would be the sweet spot to cut into Big Greens sales of the little Ninja.

I'm revising my estimate. I'm going north of $5k

Sadly.

If Hell for Leather is right, the price is $3999 for non-abs and $4499 for abs.  I am stunned.  A Honda that isn't overpriced.  I never thought it would happen! Thumbsup

It's official. Everyone is reporting now. I have to admit that I am pleasantly surprised. It looks like the CB1000R is with in a few hundred bucks of the Z1000 and FZ1 as well.

I said all along they'd HAVE to price it competitively to the Ninja 250 to grab some of that market share.  Most of the folks that buy Ninja 250s are also working with a certain budget and pricing out of that budgetary range would be suicidal.  $4K non ABS, $4.5K ABS is the sweet spot.

Eh...I'd take a Yamaha WR250R any day over one of these!  Twofinger Honda! (Now if they made their own version of the WRR...I'd pay attention!)
