Hey guys - here in Illniois, we can get free MSF training, bikes supplied, for a refundable $20 deposit.  It's hard to get into - you need to register within 24 hours of open registration, but it's here.

Does the state of Kansas offer anything similar? A friend of mine (married to my high school buddy) is thinking about getting into riding and she needs to take an MSF class to find out if it's for her.  She knows that even from Chicago I'll stop her from riding if she doesn't do it right (plus she's smart, mom of 3, won't do it at all if she doesn't do it right...)

Any help appreciated.  Free class is obviously preferable to the $300 kind.

Thanks!

Not that I know of. What part of Kansas does she live in? My wife took the MSF course in the Wichita area not too long ago and they were pretty much all a few hundred bucks. Maybe another area of Kansas offers the course free.

I took mine at Kansas City Community College (Kansas), several years ago, $180 at the time.

Wife took hers at the Great Mall of the Plains, in Olathe, a few years ago was around the same price.

No help. That's all I got. Sorry.

Most of the area Harley dealers do the training for free, but not until the weather warms up.

Might check their web sites.

Johnson County Community College now offers the MSF class. I am one of the instructors. We left the Great Mall and are now on the JCCC campus. Classes are now enrolling. Cost is $199 and worth every penny.

Hope that helps...

I took mine at Hutchinson Community College back in '02. Great bunch of people. They already have their '11 schedule up: Motorcycle Safety 2011 Season
