The adapted Nissin stuff stuff (2006) was OK. The proprietary ABS are their current bikes works well.
Ditto, the ABS Brembo's on my 08 FLHT work very well, the front much better than the rear (obviously), both way better than the linked power assisted ones on my '02 R1150RT. I wouldn't buy another Harley without the Brembos

the abs isnt working very well for an obvious reason, ducati runs the wrong kind of oil in thier engines.
ducatisti have to stand out from the crowd...taking a loooooong time to come to a stop is one way to 'be in front'.

There is a service bulletin for that year/model to replace the ECU.
Yes, they have a heavier one to install.

What makes you guys think you're experts on everything?
Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, long ABS stopping distances are an intentionally designed safety feature?
Look, you got some nutcase in a cage behind you thinkin they can keep up with you and somethin pops out up the road and you gotta grab a handful. Now if you've been following posts lately, you keep that brake covered, so you're droppin the proverbial anchor a whole lot sooner than Mr. Bozo behind you. And the brakes, even on my sucky a$$ Wee are better than most any car, or else most drivers just don't know how to use 'em. And what happens next, that little bugger damn near crawls up your butt and parks it. Who needs that? Now with long-stopping distance ABS, your worries are less, at least on dry pavement.
Why else would the EU be considering mandatory ABS?
Can't say what happens on grass, but I'm ready for some testing.

No Prop 19 failed, otherwise tests would be way better reading then dry facts and numbers:
I like totally flyin' on the multistrada, it was like intense, and then I saw this oil stain on the pavement and looked just like Jerry Garcia's head and I was like whoa dude I can't hit the likeness of Jerry cause that would be like totally bad karma for sure and grabbed the brakes and brakes were like "whoa this dude wants to stop NOW" and I had this like totally awesome stopping experience and I was like totally static, like immobile right in front of Jerry's head, so I said "Peace Jerry's head" and now I'm really hungry. kthksbye!

Yeah, that's it. Longer stopping distances are a safety feature.

'93 Yamaha GTS-1000 ABS. Full-on ABS stopping distance, 89 feet.
This comment is included under my contract to maintain my screen name, whenever abs threads occur.
Perhaps I should deserve an extra award for owning both the best and the worst of abs...

skee, you been smokin some of tar snake's stuff??!! thats the most asinine thing ive heard lately. most rear end accidents for motorcycles occur when the bike is stopped (ie, red lights). most moving accidents (the only time abs is useful) for motorcycles are front end collisions, primarily the left front quarter. building all your bikes to mitigate a very rare type of accident such as that, is retarded.

You frame my own arguments. Opting for ABS is more complicated than yes/no. It depends on the design of the ABS system, one's intended use and understanding the limits inherent to the system's design. Why this position should be so contentious is beyond me.

I believe the honor belongs to Tar Snake. I was

when I read that.
Good engineering designs are the result of compromise. Only God does perfect, and there is some anecdotal evidence to the contrary on that. Every rider faces different scenarios with different constraints. You either believe it’s better to have ABS on, or you don’t.
I think it is a good rainy-day feature, when it comes with a switch to turn it off.

True, but the manufacturer has to implement the ABS properly. That is not guaranteed.
