Pro's:
Handles great
Light weight
Hard bags designed up front and not an after thought
Pretty comfortable
pretty easy to work on
good two up comfort
air cooled so no oil (1XXX has one) or water cooler to deal with
Con's:
All nylon tanked Duc's potentially experience fuel tank swelling
maintenance is expensive if you do not do yourself
parts are expensive and becoming harder to find (specific to the 1st gen MTS)
Taller riders experience wind buffeting issues (at 5'6" I have no issue

)
620 tank does not have the vent the 1xxx's have therefore has less fuel filling capacity. There are low cost mods to fix this. I have done so and have been very happy.
Headlight SUCKS!
Low fuel gauge/light is unpredictable
The power is a personal thing. I think it is good and usable. It is not the fastest in the 600 class. A Wee strom will slightly pull away from it in a straight.
This is the best handling bike I have ever had although, pegs touch down quickly.
I have not had any real issues with this bike. I have 30K+ miles on it now.
The windshield fairing seems to be the first thing to break in a get off. It is $190 from Ducati. I just finished making my new bracket out of steel as I refuse to pay that kind of money for cast aluminium
