Ok, made a dumb mistake. I've seen it happen once in a thread a while ago and think I know what I need to do but wanted to snag some pics and suggestions.

When I put the rear seat back on this last time, I think I forgot to hook up the rear lock release. It's a small metal ball on the end of the wire that pulls the release for the rear seat so you can get into the boot and of course remove the rear plastic.

So I think I just need to bend a piece of clothes hanger wire (some thick wire) into a hook and get it into that same hole to release the rear seat.

Looking for bottom of the seat pics, the mechanism along with it's approximate location and maybe additional suggestions on releasing it.

I think the main problem is that the rear seat has a flat panel that blocks such "easy" access. I'm afraid that I'll have to destroy the seat in order to get access. I need to replace it anyway as it's falling apart but I'd like to delay it a bit through the winter and certainly give the wire a try.

Did you leave the grab rail off? Mayhaps you can pry the seat up some and fish in that way?

I have the luggage rack on the back. I'm looking more for some visual references so I know that I'm hitting the block and know that I'm coming in at the right angle.
