Just saying Hi, and offering a little bio information. I'm 53, never owned a motorcycle before this spring. Dumped a couple bikes for friends who INSISTED I try their bikes (just like a bicycle, LOL), when I was younger. In April a 1978 CB750K caught my eye by the side of the road, guy selling it turned out to be a coworker from years ago, let me have it for $850. I figured I'd see how I liked it, if not I could get my money back out of it. I absolutely loved it, pretty cold in April here near Buffalo, NY, any morning it was over 32 and the roads looked dry, I bundled up in my Carhart arctic bibs and coat, donned my ski gloves, and rode it as long as I could stand it. With 2000 miles on that, I came across a 94 Dynaglide at a good price, picked that up. Wow, an actual wind shield, and sidebags, how cool is that? LOL. Not a bad bike, everyone maligns Harleys, but though not spectacular at anything, it does everything OK for me. By August I had 5000+ miles on the 2, I took the big plunge, bought a brand new 2010 Triumph Rocket 3 Touring, man, just a beautiful bike. Still took the Honda and Harley out every week or so, gotta spread the love around, but the Rocket was my favorite. This November, a guy on my Triumph site wanted to unload a 2002 Sprint ST, I drove down to NC and picked it up for $3000, a steal, I think, only 13,000 miles. Being November, there seemed no sense in paying all that money to register and insure it for a week or 2 of riding. But I did throw the plates off the Rocket on it and sneak in 200 miles or so over 3 days before I put her away for the winter. Man, I think I may have a new favorite bike! I was leery of the seating position, but on the 50 or 60 mile rides I took, it seemed perfectly comfortable, just different. Probably not your typical beginning rider story, but I just got addicted, bad, right from the get go. 12,000 miles my first summer, hope to do better next year.  Bigsmile

Part of me wishes I'd taken up riding sooner, but I was a typical young idiot, probably would have killed myself, got most of the death defying stuff out of my system by now, I think. Oh, and the stimulus that started me was that 2 of my Harley buds were going to get their bikes on the road this year, one never did, the other did a grand total of 250 miles all summer.  EEK!

Shouldn't you be called "Quads" instead of "Tripps"?  I counted four different 'cycles in this, your first year of the addiction!

Interesting and inspiring.  I started 5 years ago when I was 35.  I thought that was too late to start, then you come along.  Look at you.
