Kwixtar, you quoted Liteitup but were asking about my profile, did you mean to ask Liteitup? My profile correctly lists my location as Tucson, Arizona.

O K - Who died and made me Mr accuracy? Wow   Sorry Liteitup and Johnnyquest.

Liteitup,  I see u updated your profile and know where you are coming from.

If you have to go so far in little time some have suggested that you can rent Uhaul trailer local and use it for 4 days real cheap and if you have a vehicle to tow it with.  You could even get someone to share the trip and share expenses. They could help you drive.
Going from Waco to northern NM is a drag, especially on a bike cause there is no scenery until you get to NM.

Lack of Time is a good excuse for towing and you will be forgivin.

In September I towed a trailer full of parts from FT Worth to Prescott Valley AZ non stop, in one day. So, You could leave after work on Thursday and with a  sleep stop of 4 hours on the way get there by noon Friday.

As of right now I'm fairly determined to make the ride. If I change my mind, I have the hauling option available.
My bigger concern is keeping up once i get there.....and the ride back. That may be the reason I decide to haul. That, and two of the last three times I've driven to NM, there has been massive rains in the panhandle/west TX. I need to figure a way to charge the ranchers/farmers for rainmaking Lol

It's 12 pretty hard hours from my house in a car w/minimal stops.

I haven't checked the rules but, I'm pretty sure that you're not allowed to trailer a bike on a 12 hour trip  Wink

Speaking of BEER. If you are trailering in from Colorado, could you include some Moose Drool beer from Montana? Beerchug

 Headscratch seriously ?

not to be misunderstood; I'm not knocking trailering but wondering why you would want to miss out on 430 smiles of great riding.

Amarillo to Tucumcari down I-40 is naturally a snoozer, but from there on you can have great fun for the next 215 miles to Red River.  And that first 105 miles would be a good time to wake up, stop for breakfast in Tucumcari (leave at 6:00 have b-fast by 7:30).  From there you head up 104 to Las Vegas then take 518 to Mora, 434 to Angel Fire, 64 to Eagles Nest and 38 to Red River by noon-30 mtn time.  That's ~215 miles of fun riding that will get you ready for the more challenging roads you guys are likely to seek out later.  Reverse that for the trip home and you've gotten 430 miles of two-wheeled fun that you will miss if you trailer to RR.
