OK !  Looks like there is still somebody going.
It is a ride I haven't been on either and because of my surgery I won't ride for 4 to 6 months.
Someday I will go but not this year.

Now, Lets start taking ideas about next years Rally.
You guys let me know where you would like to go ?

Back to Big Bend (my vote).
Back to Silver City (2nd place)

any suggestions?

Bob,
I told the six of us that went to dinner Sat. night that we were to decide next years locale. This was everyone elses first STN event they left it for me to decide. They said they voted after I left and since I was the only atendee who had been to all the spring meet ups I lost.
Not one to abuse this absolute power I figure we'll let folks throw out suggestions. I'm thinking we are going to have to do some repeats.Kerrville, Silver City or Cloudcroft would all be good for me.
We had a great ride Sat. lead by Fred (rider1a) around the Enchanted Loop. Temprature varied almost 40 degrees as we topped 10,000 ft several times and the valleys were in the mid eighties.
I logged 1560 miles and had a great time.Hope your pain issue gets resolved and your back in the saddle soon.

I guess we will put this on hold until I am more healed from the surgery.

I am glad you and the others had a good time. I wish I were there.

Thanks

Same with me. I have been laid up since Jan.7. Today, I'm supposed to be free, after seeing the doc. I was looking forward to ridding someplace I haven't been and meeting new STNers.

Back home from the RR trip:  2900 miles, TX, NM, CO, NE, KS, OK.  Enjoyed the rides with the group out of Red River. Great lead on two great  days of interesting riding.

Next meeting suggestion:  Northeast OK. We could get in some good riding in AR, NE OK, MO.

That is a great area to ride. Our region includes Arizona, NM, Texas and Oklahoma.
We have always tried to stay central to that. Last year it was in the HIll country and had a great group from Texas.
Northeast OK -  + Eureka Springs area would be great. You are in charge of planning it .

I had so much fun I still haven't made it home.
I am headed that way though.
Staying in Roswell, NM tonight and headed East in the morning.
I put my NM road map away tonight and pulled out my TX one.
Favorite road today was NM130 from Cloudcroft to NM24. Bigsmile

Hey John, It is kinda hard to leave Cloudcroft where it is cool and go down into that Hot Hot road to Roswell. Miles and Miles of Miles.

You're right about that. I had to make a couple of stops to remove heavy riding gear.
Ambient air indicator went from 57 in higher altitudes to 99 as I rode into Roswell.

Any of you guys interested in a ST-N spring meet in Silver City NM in May? Lots of great rides there and in Eastern AZ (Hwy 199)?

Sounds tempting.
I need to figure how many sets of tires I can afford this year. Headscratch
Already have a Colorado trip in June.
New Mexico is lots closer now that I have relocated to Utah.

I've already set aside time in June for a trip that now looks like it won't happen. I'd prefer not to be wishy-washy about my vacation requests, so I'm sticking w/the week in June and making alternate plans. Any chance you would consider June? It's the same week as the stn national, but that sounds too large and "organized" for me. The Red River trip last year was perfect.
