Sounds like a good deal all the way around, props to Chris for helping out. What I would do is find a Ryder or similar truck rental, rent the smallest (cheapest) box van I could find and drive down and pick it up.

 Bigok

I have several options...it's an easy ride north, provided you bypass Newark / NYC.  I'm sure that I'll make a long weekend of it and take the train down and ride it back in early spring.  Would like to have an escort / wingman, just in case there some untoward "opportunity" presents itself.  Could have done so this weekend (it was dry, at least!) but most of my gear is currently in Wisconsin.

So, you bringing it to the track in June?  :pokestick:

Boy, you sure are interested in passing me back, aren't ya?  Ha!   rofl

The R4 Track Day was a great experience...of course, with the GS instead of the ST I'll literally have "half" the motor that I had before...so you'll be licking your chops to blow by me coming out of turn #6, won't you?  Guess that means I'll have to be prepared.   Burnout    Game on!

That's a nice score Charlie, but you should know by now that all the really cool guys have silver FJR's.   Razz

Happy to help. It was a fun day, for sure.  Thumbsup

I'd also be happy to ride it up when there's sure to be no ice or snow on the ground and hitch a train ride home. Or meet in the middle somewhere if you can snag a truck. Or trailer it up. Or wait and hang on to it.

Whatever works. I'm easy.  Thumbsup

Road Track, and Trail has a 2009 G650 XC in their inventory.  They are in Big Bend...just south of Waukesha...

I'm just not worthy.... Hail

Besides....there can be "only" ONE...er...two!

So, instead of piloting an "EdSled"I'll just have to stick with my Silver ST.

...Guess you're just going to have to wait for months (and months and months and...) to collect your payback.  It's a good thing that you're not obsessing on this now, isn't it?

Seriously--one of the instructors at a local riding school has a photo of himself taking a knee on an F650GS...in the pouring rain.  I think it's his your-bike-can-do-more-than-you-think slide.

I'm not entirely sure that buying a bike made of cheese (and, BTW, it looks like Edam not Cheddar) is an entirely sound idea.

Just my tuppeny ha'penny's worth.

I'm quickly falling in  Inlove Inlove Inlove with this thing.

See the puppy.  Would you like to pet the puppy?

Wouldn't you like to have a puppy just like this one?

All it takes is $$$...
