"Dude" how about working on your reading comprehension  Lol

I posted what I thought was the correct information ONCE, and acknowledged the correction. You might even have noticed that I gave the basis for my initial response. Had you taken the time to read what was written, you'd have caught that little tidbit of information.

Give a fella a tube o lipstick and a fresh RT, and he thinks he knows everything.

Scored a nice deal on some (very lightly) used pelican-style cases...so my panniers will be of the ABS variety.  Will need to investigate proper frames / racks for them.  Still looking for a rear rack solution that would be suitable for a top case and/ or a water-tight soft bag.

Both my ST and this GS are 2003 models, and both have been "used, but very low mileage" scores....the ST had 1,142 miles on it when I bought it in 2007; this GS had 965 miles after my test ride.  Both will run pure syn oil while I ride them...

Here's a link for GIVI mounting hardware. http://www.giviusa.com/My-motorcycle/?ma=BMW&mo=F-650-GS-00--03
It gives you several options for which size top case would work best for you.
I have their V46 case and I swap it between my RT and GS.
The rack and case have been crash tested on my GS and they held up surprisingly well. Thumbsup

I bought BMW saddlebags and top box for my bike. Many people hate them. I do not hate mine, although it is a bit annoying that the top box is not watertight.

That said, if I were doing it again, I would seriously consider installing Pelican cases.

BTW, Norwegian Blue got all that info right about the F650GS thumper / F650GS twin / G650GS. Then again, he purchased my first F650GS on my behalf. Alas, it lasted only a week and a half.  Crazy Sad

I didn't know a thumper could have two exhaust pipes.

2 exhaust valves could/would produce dual exhaust pipes.

It's actually one exhaust with two chambers. IIRC, one is the cat, the other is the muffler. Or something like that. There's a crossover from the left side to the right side. Exhaust comes out only on the right side, at least on the later ('05-'07) thumpers.

Quoted for truth...

It "still" is a thumper...a single cylinder GS, with a factory exhaust system including the crossover pipe.
