Hello.

I live rightoutside of DC in Alexandria, VA. Until now I've been mostly a year round commuter, and weekend day tripper; but I would like to change that trend next season with some longer multi-day trips. I currently have a little Monster 695 that I commute on and a Buell XB12R that I use whenever. I parted ways with a much loved '02 R1 this summer, and I would like to replace it with a more ST oriented mount. I'm currently looking at picking up either a FZ-1 or a Triumph Sprint. Until I get either one of those bikes, I plan on taking the Monster on a trip down the blue ridge parkway in the spring.

Welcome!

I've read that the Blue Ridge Parkway is an excellent ride.  I've added it to my own list of 'things to do'.  Hopefully sooner than later.

you have already found the solution. The best bike to tour on is the one you have.
