Leathers, where to buy
«

Merry Christmas to all. My daughter and I are traveling through Washington and Oregon this week. Can you recommend a motorcycle shop that has a decent selection of road racing leathers.
Thanks,
Mike

Hey thanks Bubba. Will you make to the Vancouver motorcycle show this year? I'm hoping the new Triumph 800XC will be on display.

I see Cycle Gear has Frank Thomas one piece leathers on sale for only 299!

Is Oregon still sales tax free? There is a store in Portland too.

The Frank Thomas stuff is their house brand and not known to be the sturdiest build quality. Sorry if this sounds like a lecture but protection vs. price is always something to consider. I would use the FT leathers for Supermoto where the speeds are fairly low but I'm not sure about using them for very high speed stuff. Do some research on the brand before spending. Look at reviews rather than listening to some clown on the internet (uh...me).
As I mentioned earlier, Cycle Gear has probably the most generous return policy anywhere in motorcycling so there isn't a lot of risk when purchasing from them.

The leathers are for local Supermoto and occasional street use.. as you said should be ok for that.
But I'll compare to other better quality brands while there.
Thanks for the tips.
I'll stop by Renton MC for a look too, since it is in the same area.

Last time I was there, they had a set of women's one-piece leathers on closeout (it's been a while though).
Mercer is a mess--more than usual, they're "improving" it. Take the South Lake Union....Streetcar. They're right by Buca di Beppo.

Check out TAPMOTO, a Vancouver area based designer and manufacturer of leather riding gear. They will do custom fit for a reasonable price.
