I'm sure they already had early registration for riders from last years rally (I had to drop out last year). I will register as soon as it open up for the rest of us. January 7th IIRC Wink

I had to drop out also due to starting a new job.  If you registered and paid last year, send the rallymaster an email.  My registration was done yesterday and I started buying navigation upgrades immediately.   Wink  Flag #339 will actually participate this year starting in Savannah, TN.

I'm about 100 miles closer to NY, but Savannah should be warmer earlier in the morning.  The plan is to leave after work on Wednesday and spend Thursday evening at the motel in Savannah doing my bonus routing.  Dinner will be with a bunch of friends who are also in the rally and then try and get some intense sleep.  We'll probably end up in NY for one of the bonii.   Lol

The Rally booked up in under 7 hours, but I managed to get a spot for the Savannah, TN spot. A quick scan of the starters names tells me it's going to be a very competitive rally this year. Let the games begin Smile

I'm starting from Savannah, TN.

I'm going to stay in Jackson, TN Thursday night along I-40 (Econo Lodge). There'll be a group of us who'll meet for dinner at the Logan's Roadhouse off I-40 at exit 80. There are several motels within one block of Logan's.

Howdy, Mr. H.  It'll be good to put your face with a name and make your acquaintance.  (I hang around at the MTF too)  Used to own a Trophy, if that helps pinpoint me over there.   Wink  I'll put the dinner site on my list of things to do.  My room is at the Comfort Inn in Savannah.

Some of the parts and pieces have trickled in late this week.  I've gotta wait for the new fuse box to show before starting the actual prep work.  Lots of rewiring for some of the stuff the PO did into a semblance of sanity and reliability.

It's always fun to clean up someone else's rat's nest of wiring! What kind of fuse block are you going to install?

I went with the Eastern Beaver PC-8.  http://easternbeaver.com/Main/Products/Fuseboxes/PC-8/pc-8.html  Eight circuits, two switched and six unswitched.  It came pretty highly recommended and I have a bit of space under the GS tank to use it.  I added his fused power lead for it also.  Less than $100 delivered all totalled.  It's been like Christmas every day as the new toys show up via UPS, USPS and Fedex.   Lol

The PO did a pretty nice job of routing and stuff, but all the hot leads are on the battery and it's just too cluttered for my tastes.  I need a couple more power leads for the new Zumo, the new HID headlight kit and a dedicated heated gear circuit.  I'm losing one circuit for the trailer hitch lighting.  I am not pulling a trailer with it, so it's totally excess for now.

I had a blast last year and especially enjoyed meeting other participating STNers. Alas, this year my schedule is such that I knew I would be unable to attend so I did not even attempt to register. I must admit, though, to pangs of jealousy while reading this and the threads on the Cape Fear Yahoo group  Sad
Best of luck to everyone taking part this year - I'm looking forward to a return in 2012.

I have the same jealousy pangs. I ran the last three and knowing it was out there always made the winter easier to take. Not thinking about it in the snow feels weird now.   Sad

I'm not riding (rally-ing), but I'll be at the finish... having a go at scoring this year.
