watch it buddy , I grew up in Trail BC drank more cheap liquor and smoked more pot to these guys than most others   Lol  Frug they must be old now

Well, occasionally whilst sipping a double latte 'all the way' in the Oak Bay High lounge, some Nazareth would come over the speakers and for the briefest of moments we would allow ourselves to "rock out".  So, I can relate. I was wild once too you know !   Rolleyes

Pretty sure Nazareth played Nelson a couple of years ago.  I didn't go Embarassment

BTW, "This Flight Tonight" is a Joni Mitchell song Wink

Ya know, I hadn't noticed the Merritt event and Salmon Arm event were on the same weekend...hmmm...there's some good riding between Salmon Arm and Kamloops, and a very good road from Kamloops to Merritt...now if they'd put 'em a week apart... Headscratch

You are correct. I caught them in Banff during that same tour.

Amazing enough, the lead singer could still hit all the notes. It was pretty funny seeing 60 year olds standing on the dance floor with Bic lighters.

Well, ya know it had to happen.  Heard an interview with the main organizer for Sturgis North this morning on CBC, and...of course...they're asking the city of Salmon Arm to relax it's noise bylaws during the rally Rolleyes  I'm sure the majority of local residents (and visiting tourists) are gonna be really happy about that one.

Apparently, they're having some issues finding an actual venue for the main event, and they may end up having to hold the entire thing right in the city centre fairgrounds.  Gee, I'm not a professional organizer or event promoter, but...I always kinda felt that finding an appropriate venue was, like, one of the first things you'd do when planning a major biker rally, maybe even prior to advertising the event...

The postcards for this event are on the bulletin boards at work.
I have zero interest.
I can only begin to imagine the traffic jam.
Oh well, I'm sure they'll have some chromed flames for sale there.  Wink

I have had several people ask me if I am going to Sturgis North.  The event is getting enormous word of mouth out there.

Salmon Arm has had its share of summer madness over the years and not that long ago.  I would imagine it is getting the appropriate scrutiny from the locals.
