Just like the title says. Refer to this post for a little more background:

Time frame is beginning in mid to late February in Florida. Weather permitting heading north to Tail of the Dragon and the Capital, then heading home to California. I have about 6 weeks to do it. I will be camping. Any route recommendations? Anyone care to join up along the way?

If time isn't a problem, I would head northwest from Deal's Gap and explore Kentucky. Supposed to be some nice riding there.
Then dip southwest to the Ozarks in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas.
I would start a thread in Region 5 for some Kentucky tips
Edit to add: oops
I just noticed the February part. If the weather is bad, stay south

I too would shoot for South MO and NW Arkansas then just endure TX. Come into NM on 82 through Lovington-Artesia- Cloudcroft- Alamogordo, white sands. Then from Las Cruces jump up tp Caballo Lk 152 West to Silver City. 180 out of Silver to 78 West just above Buckhorn into AZ. Depending on where you are going in Cali you can run 191 North to Show Low and 60/260 West or if you need the South route try 191 down to Old 80 and West toward Yuma. You don't need to be told about altitude....but stay below 7K ft and ice will usually be minimal or passable if you are careful. Have fun....a great trip. La Nina is your friend this year!

Room here in Tucson to spend the night if your travels come through here. There's some interesting things to ride near here if you have time. PM me for details.
