So what's happened to Vivid1 and Rocketbunny? (They don't seem to have posted in a while...)

Vivid1 is doing well here in Colorado. She's snowboarding, hiking, and camping. We (Rita, Anna, and I) hiked up to Rogers Pass for an overnight camping trip and got unique pictures of mountain goats that the forest service now have in their files.

She mentioned going riding yesterday on Facebook. Don't know if she made it, though. I did get out for a ride Smile

 Lol

Nah...I was actually thinking about Rocketbunny and Vivid1 'cause they consistently posted some of the best ride reports (and pics) on STN...and I missed those!

But hey, life takes us all in different directions...so I hope those guys come back at some point!

Anna, if you're reading this, I envy (and understand) your activities in the Mountain State. (Said as someone for whom motorcycling is one of many passions!)

Did'ya ever consider that this isn't necessarily the most "comfortable" place for female riders to spend their casual time?   Headscratch

Maybe it's the "Hot Buns" thread?   Shrug

Or the "Cleavage" thread?   Wow

Or the ever-popular "NSFW Hot Redheads" thread?    Rolleyes

Not to be "Holier than thou..."    and all that shite...but let's face it, if this were the workplace we'd have been shut down long ago for permitting an environment where locker room talk is permitted / fostered.

Why do you assume no women enjoy hot buns, cleavage, or NSFW redheads?

In fact, when I peruse this site, I often open up one of those threads in another tab/window, so if my wife catches me, I can switch to that.

Nah, it's not the 'hot whatever' threads, speaking for myself I enjoy female pulchritude as much as the next guy. Wink  And one can choose not to view those threads.

It gets a wee bit frustrating, however, when certain 'attitudes' creep into regular threads.

I don't know either of them personally, but I know that rocketbunny has a blog, or did.  I remember reading through it after I read a few of her trip reports on here.
Also, it's interesting that some of the most 'epic' ride reports are from the 'women of STN'.  I've read and enjoyed the ride reports from bluepoof, dantesdame(mrs), rocketbunny, and vivid.  In fact I think the reason I found STN a few years ago is one of them had a v65 sabre early in their riding career and that's what I was searching for info on.
Wound up finding this site and realizing what sport-touring was all about.  And actually doing some trips.  Ok, I'm done kissing up the the women of STN.

hah! Got a call from a friend that you guys were missing me!

Yeah, I've been busy. I got married about 6 months ago and (even though it was very small) the wedding planning basically used up my riding/vacation budget for the year. Between the dogs and the husband and plans to expand our family, I've been very occupied at home and haven't had much time to think about trips or accessorizing. I'm still chugging along on a trip report from 2 years ago!    Just the other day I was chatting with a friend about the need to be more inspired to go out and ride (takes a lot of inspiration here in Houston).

I tend to keep up with the ST.N women via Facebook and blogs. Vivid1 has a great blog that she posts to frequently. She's living it up in Colorado and doing some fantastic outdoor activities - http://excessivelocity.blogspot.com/

Sorry guys, no backhair. And you can have as many Boobies threads as you want, doesn't bother me.

I see no reason to be insulted by the male perspective of the majority of the members here.  If somebody is a complete d*ckhead - there's always the ignore button.  Haven't seen the need to use it for that, personally.

Just the other day I was chatting with a friend about the need to be more inspired to go out and ride (takes a lot of inspiration here in Houston).

Having lived in Houston and Corpus and Odessa, I can relate  Bigsmile

Anna, if you're reading this, I envy (and understand) your activities in the Mountain State. (Said as someone for whom motorcycling is one of many passions!)
I still lurk, when I remember to lurk  Lol

I remember living in Illinois having only one hobby and passion - sport-touring! That's pretty much why I rode so much, there was nothing else to do in Illinois Headscratch Then I moved to Colorado and oh my, so many things to do all year long. I still ride, I still have 3 motorcycles, but probably not for long, I'm thinking of downsizing to 2 next year -1 dual-sport and 1 sport-touring bike, should be plenty since I just don't ride that often anymore.

Between the snowboarding, snowshoeing, xc skiing, hiking, backpacking, climbing, camping, fly fishing, dirt riding, hanging out with the BF and our dogs, well, there isn't a whole lot of time left to ride motorcycles Lol

I tend to keep up with the ST.N women via Facebook and blogs. Vivid1 has a great blog that she posts to frequently. She's living it up in Colorado and doing some fantastic outdoor activities - http://excessivelocity.blogspot.com/

Yep, we the women of ST.N still keep in touch on Facebook Thumbsup as for my blog, I still have got to update it, it seems like I'm always many months behind

 ATGATT for fly-fishing....

Can't for a moment understand why you would choose this type of boring scenery instead of the exciting urban lifestyle, riding the Illinois flatlands and dodging miscellaneous car parts strewn about on the Ike?   Headscratch

Thanks for checking in...have to admit that, upon retirement, I'd bound for the mountains "somewhere"...those images with the 'cycles frames by the mountains are like moto-porn.

So sad about Fast Cat. I enjoyed her time here. On the link to the other board, the comment was made that we all know the dangers, so my assumption is that her passing may have been motorcycle related. May the lady rest in peace.   Inlove

FastCat and KitKat used to argue in political threads when political threads were in Off Topic. I was usually on the opposite side from both of them. Today, my opinions have morphed and I'd probably be on their side. I hope FastCat takes some joy from that fact. Maybe Chuck and FastCat are looking down laughing.
