Do you guys *want* a WCRM this year? There are half a dozen threads floating around regarding it but nothing seems to make any sense  Rolleyes

My opinion: the WCRM is a stand-alone event. It has always been held early in the season sort of as a "herald to the start of the riding season" (you socal peeps can hush). It has always been held equidistant from the north/south borders so as to contribute to the true WEST COAST-ness of the event. This isn't a Pacific Northwest ride, or a Canadian Weinerfest, nor a SoCal "let's take our sport bikes into the dirt" ride. Those things already exist.

The location/time of the National should NOT influence the WCRM. Some people can make one event, some can make both.  Trying to weave them into the same trip defeats the ideals behind the WCRM.

I saw in another thread that someone asked me to plan something. I will, if you guys really want something planned. But be warned that it may look a lot like the previous year's WCRM's  Embarassment

Or give me some ideas of what alternatives you want to see (not you, Mr. Sunshine  Cool) and we could put up a poll. This is supposed to be created to appeal to the MAJORITY of the members who intend on attending.

Thanks for asking the question Colleen.  Its kind of sad that someone on the East Coast who can't attend has to take the lead to make something happen but that is almost predictable when no one is in charge or has the authority to make a decision.  I suggested last year when we had the same problem that the WCRM attendees vote (at WCRM) where and when to have it the following year and everyone said that would be unfair to those that don't attend.   If you have a better idea of how to make this thing work so we don't go through this BS every year I would like to hear it because what we have now isn't working.

As for alternatives for date and location, my vote would be June 3-5 at either Fortuna or Ukiah.

Is this the official poll thread?  Ok, I second that.

The following weekend is the Cal24 so there may be ANOTHER conflict if it's held on the weekend of the 12th.

Well put Colleen, as you can see we miss our Den Mother here in the west.

I think we need a poll to pick a date first as it will effect the location.  The higher the elevation of the location the more of a chance of snow if we get crap weather with an earlier date.  Although it's traditional to have it earlier in the the year (late May or early June) I think late June would give a much better chance of better weather.  That's my opinion, however the group needs to decide so I think we need a poll.  Once the date is set we can pick a location and what ya know we have a WCRM.  Now, as far as the planning goes I'm willing to make any necessary arrangements as long as it's in Northern California, however I'm thinking about attending the National so keep that in mind.

The same weekend and place as the Not WCRM meet?  It'll be mighty crowded.

We don't need a poll. I set the day like 4 months ago....people just haven't gotten in that thread.
