perhaps should be in "others," but it is way to cool to lurk down there . . . . .

76 year old Ricardo Quintanilla rides the same Bultaco Cazarécords he used to help set a record in 1960.

Damn boomers!

Bultaco's are cool bikes. I had met an older guy in my area that used to own a dealership back in the early eighty's. I had heard he had a collection of bikes in his barn that he was thinking of selling, so I made arrangements to see what he had. most of the bikes were early bultaco dirt bikes in various states of disrepair, but back in the corner tucked away he had an unmolested 1967 Metralla MKII  Inlove I offered him some cash for the bike, but even as a seventy some year old man he wouldn't part with his Unicorn  Lol Oh well I'll just keep pestering him till he gives in. Here is an nice example of the Metralla in pristine condition.

Hey where's the kick start  Bigsmile

The Metralla I owned wasn't nearly as cherry as that -- what a find!

Good luck on getting your mitts on it -- it was a giant killer in it's time. Sportsters and Bonnevilles were in trouble, if I could pick the road ;-}

 Yup...great bikes,very stout, easy to work on, built many configurations using one basic motor with cylinder,rod gearbox changes. "cemoto" is slang for "motocyclata", Spanish for motorcycle. "cemoto" would be like "cycles" which we would say in English. It is absolutely amazing what they did with those sets of crankcases....Think Sherpa all the way up to Astro/Metralla all made out of one type of engine. SR. Bulto was very brilliant. He was once a Montessa engineer who struck out on his own with a vision and these great bikes are his legacy.

Michigan, eh? Where is this at? My uncle (actually, my dad's uncle) has a large collection of bikes, but I think he got out of the business earlier than the 80s.

I believe he said his shop was around the southfield area (metro detroit). His dealership may have closed earlier than the eightys, I'm not a very good listener when surrounded by classic spainish steel  Bigsmile . He was an avid dirt tracker and still is  Thumbsup thats all I really know about the fella. He did have a ton of parts on shelves in the barn.

What is "Cemoto"?

I'm guessing it's short for Compania Española de Motocicletas

Don't think that's him. He lost his leg and hasn't been able to ride in...well, at least 30 years. I really need to get up there and dig through his barn and see what he has. He had a LOT of old bikes in there.

 I had a 1972 Pursang back in the day. I LOVED that bike. It seized a piston in 1977 and that was the end of her because there were no parts available. Man, I'd love to have one now!
