Well I need some new sneakers for the bike.
I try to ride to work at least 3 times a week but on the week ends I try my best to hit some twisties. Nothing serious, no track days only a few power slides threw corners. What would you guys suggest?

I've had very good experience with Continental tires on my GPz.  Since I commute almost exclusively I'm going with full-on touring tires next time.  See my thread in the tech section.

Michelin Pilot Roads.

Or Pilot Powers.

Or power on the front and road in the rear.

I use the conti road attacks and I love them, they get decent mileage and have all the grip you want in the twisties, these are the best all around tires I've had yet.

Had good luck with the pilot roads. Decent mileage, good dry and wet weather traction. Running the avon azaro 45/46 combo right now. No complaints as of yet except for the low speed wobble some people are experiencing.  Looking like they will get better mileage than what I got on the michelin's.

Thanks guys I'll look into what I can get.
Its too early to order them right now but if I find any kind of deal I'll post it.
Also wrapping the headders on this bike to maybe safe the electric fan and possibly improve the sound.
I did it on my 87-700-VFR with a good deal of success. Will it have any effect on this bike?

When I wrapped the headers on the VFR the Super trap tone got allot deeper and and easier on the ears.
Also I rediced the over all ambient temperature behind the radiator and I feel that by doing so helped the fan stay alive longer and not melt/short/die.
But that was a V4 with stock header's and Super Trap slip ons, I'm just wondering what it will do to the GPZ

Dunno... I know people who put aftermarket headers on the GPz/ZX11 generally run Muzzy aluminum rad fans to keep them from melting... you may want to post your question on the GPZ1100 mailing list and see what people say. Cool

On the tire question.  On my second set of Pilot Roads now.  Have tried Avon 45/46, and Contis.  Pilot Roads have been the best so far.

Thanks, I'll keep a look out for what's out there and at what price.
If I find a deal I'll share with the rest of you guys.
Its my first year on the GPZ and thus far I love the bike.
Its not as nimble as my 87-700VFR but that's like comparing apples and oranges.
So its not a fair comparison.
Besides the tire thing I'm sort of looking around for a set of pipes for the thing.
Its just too dam quiet! I would love to put a set of Super Traps on her but I don't think they make them for this bike? Do they?

There's one for the ZX-11 on eBay now, or there was... you have to make a simple centerstand bumper, and you may have to shim the radiator but it fits otherwise. Most ZX-11 exhausts fit with no or minor tweaking. The ZZR1200 OEM system fits with centerstand modification (or removal). Lots of GPz1100 V&H SS2R systems out there, lots of Muzzy, Micron makes a system also. Note that you can't get dual slip-ons and run the stock header, as the left-side muffler is one piece with the header. If you want to run 4-into-2 you need to put on the ZZR header and run ZZR slip-ons. If you run thin-walled aftermarket headers you probably need to run an aluminum Muzzy radiator fan to keep it from melting.

BTW if your pipes are stock and have no scratches/dents I'll take them off your hands. Bigok
