There is just a chance that I may have the opportunity to live in Spain for a while, possibly permanently. Can anyone tell me what insurance costs are in Spain relative to the UK, and any legal requirements regarding licencing, registration, annual inspections etc? I know that bikes are very popular there so am I correct in thinking that they are also not too heavily taxed, how do prices compare? Muchos gracias!  Smile

Hi,

first at all welcome to Spain!!

Well, approximately the main costs of having a motorbike:

Insurance: It's very variable. It depends on several things. Mainly in the following, the insurance company, engine displacement and your age. Between 350 €- 800€

Annual inspections: First inspection when bike is 4 years old, after that every other year. Around 35€

Registration: Depend on the displacement of the engine and the city where you have registered the bike. Around 40 €

Donde? My observation was that I'd want something pretty low-value, super-maneuverable, and light. Driving is a full-contact sport in Spain.  Lol

Not frightened - just practical.  Lol

In the US, an f4i would be considered a lightweight girl's bike. In Spain, an overweight garage queen.
