Well I have been thinking of doing a European tour for sometime now and always found some reason to back out. But today, I bought a big red Trophy in Edinburgh so this spring I will by God have to go!
If all goes to plan, I'll ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam, then road down through the Balkans, Ukraine and on in to visit my girl in Russia.

Should be an epic ride Bill !

Make sure you ride that road from Rijeka to Split to Dubrovnik along the Adriatic ... I think it is highway 8. I drove it in a crapped out VW van many years ago and it is pretty impressive and would be great on a bike !!

Thanks for the good wishes all! Got the cognac on my list! I was planning to run through Bucharest Beograd but maybe I should swing south the the Split road. Assuming Ido good enough reading signs to go where I think I am.
