Hello everyone in Region 3.

In preparation for spring I'm lining up my maintenance tasks for the bike. I need a new chain/sprocket set soon. Before I go order an expensive tool for limited use, I am hoping to lure a good sam with the promise of premium beer.

I would love to borrow a chain tool if you have one.

Wish I had one to offer - I like beer Sad

If you can't find a donor, can always grab one for less than $15 at Harbor Freight

I don't have one either (unless it's lightweight bicycle class) though the HabaFrt is nearby if you'd like me to take a gander.

If he's offering free beer it might be worth someone swinging by Harbor Freight to buy the Chain Cutter/Riveter and then stopping at his place to borrow it to him why drinking his free beer.  It would make for a pretty cheep tool.

There could be worse things than being known as a tool whore...

Ryan what size chain is on that SV650 (too lazy on a Sat PM to look it up)? While I could put a smiley here - the issue is rather series (though I work for pop and good pizza (still looking for good za out here - though Justine's is good za - says this close enough to Chicago boy [still haven't found any good deep dish pie]).

I'll be down in Aurora Sunday for the game.

As an aside, sister & fam are in Aurora and bro & fam are in Highland's Ranch - so I get down to the ritzy section every now and then.

HF has a ~$15 chain breaker that can double as a rivet insertion tool - search You Tube for vids on using the tool to rivet. They have the $60 tool as well.

While not a first choice for the job, I do have a shop press in the garage:

As long as you don't drink it till your done Smile

I actually have a new chain and sprockets sitting in the garage - just waiting for the current one to wear out - at 30,500 and it's still within spec, a record for my heavy handed riding  Lol
