Why all the FJR Angst.
«

Mostly I ignore all the bike bashing . Even if directed at my bike i just don't give a shit.
But a comment in another thread had my wonder just what the wet weight was for an FJR vs. an ST1300.
The FJR is listed as 644lbs. The ST at 730lbs
So why does the FJR get peoples panties in such a knot? Or have I just not been around enough to know the in joke?

it's almost a wing
The guy I usually ride with has one and I call it the tanker. Of course when I ask if he has room for the sweatshirts I bought the kids at Crater Lake I have to apologize

There is all kinds of panties-bunching and bike bashing here.
Ride what fits your body, brain and style.

Eh, everyone is just jealous of those of us lucky enough to ride the "Sport Tourer of the Decade". You know, like back in high school when some kid showed up with a really nice hopped up ride and all the other kids were jealous so they called it a piece of crap? Yeah, like that.

I have never denigrated the FJR...I am consistent in lauding the FJR as a fine touring bike. And has a mighty fine electrically powered windscreen. And no, not a figment of my imagination, the XX is in my garage out of the snow as we speak...many on here have seen my Blackbird....it has traveled many miles.

Every time I ride mine, I think how much better it would be if under the same plastic were an 800 cc engine with 95 hp and 150 lbs less weight. It would still be ugly, but it would be just as good for touring and more fun in the twisties.

That understandable seeing as you apparently don't know how to shift.

The angst is born of jealousy. Not all men are manly enough to mount such a steed. It is the Sport Tourer of the Decade, perpetually now and forever.
So who wants to buy mine?

Too heavy, too hot and too small. Anything that comes with hard bags mounted does not have sport in mind regardless of what label you hang on it. It's a small touring bike. However ride whatever you like. That's why they make different models.

I must, respectfully disagree; it's not so small.
