http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1355153/Easy-rider-After-56-years-700-000-miles-finally-time-sell-motorbike--40-000.html

So this man didn't marry the "dreamkiller" wife, and hasn't let his bike rot in the corner.   Bigsmile

This averages 12,500 miles a year, for 56 years!!   Bigok

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Stuart Jenkinson paid £385 for his Vincent Black Prince motorcycle in 1955, he thought he would only keep it for a year before swapping it for a car.

But now, after a 56-year romance on the road that saw them travel more than 700,000 together, Mr Jenkinson, 83, is finally going to part with the bike he calls 'Vinnylonglegs'.

The 998cc machine, which has covered the length and breadth of Europe, is set to land its owner a windfall too, because it is expected to sell for £40,000 when it goes under the hammer at auction.

...... the article continues.

Very cool story. I like how different the bike looks in the now shot, compared to the new shot. Looks like many parts have come and gone over the years.

Great story.  I'm gonna post this on another forum, where one of the members is in his late 70s and has been riding for well over 50 years--he has lots of Vincent stories, but rides modern sportbikes now (he has a 929 and a 954--recently sold his 600...).

Just finished reading Bid Sid's Vincati.  Pretty good book with a lot of the Vincent culture in it.

Here is the FB page.  It was neat reading the book and then seeing some of the videos with Bid Sid and Matthew in them talking about the bike.  Pretty neat to see what they are working on in the garage now too.
