I used to post here a lot but in the last four years my life got much more complicated.  In short, I went through a nasty divorce.  When my bike riding ex-wife & I seperated she wanted my Honda Valkyrie & the FZ-1 that she primarily rode.  That seemed fair because I ended up with my 2002 R1150GS & 2005 FJR1300.  Bikes that I primarily rode.

Last fall, I decided to sell my bikes & pay some hefty attorney bills.  Beside, I got remarried to a wonderful woman that loves to ride pillion & the two remaining bkes had too much bad karma.   I sold both for what seemed fair prices.

All fall/winter I've been on a replacement bike search with my wife's comfort being the biggest issue.  She really liked the FJR but being tall with 36" legs she felt a bit cramped.  We rode a new Goldwing, it was too car-like for her (her words), we rode a new HD Ultra Classic but she hated the noise & vibration.  We rode a Stratoliner & she like it best & we almost bought it but on the way home she said "I just don't think we're Cruiser types".  Smart woman!

I stopped by our local dealer & found great deals on Concours 14's. I also started getting the V-Strom itch.  I found a used 2009 Concours on Craigslist for a great price..so now there's a black Kawi in our garage.  I'll return & report as we motor around on it! Bigsmile

Welcome back!  I've also been through an ugly break-up.  I feel your pain.

...She really liked the FJR but being tall with 36" legs...

Okay...we're gonna' need pics!   Bigok

...We rode a new Goldwing, it was too car-like for her (her words)...

Umm, that means your weren't riding it to even a small fraction of its potential!  Shame on you!!!

...on the way home she said "I just don't think we're Cruiser types".  Smart woman!...

True 'dat and it just reinforces point #2.

...I found a used 2008 Conccours on Craigslist for a great price..so now there's a black Kawi in our garage...

They're awesome bikes.  Congrats!  Same rules apply as for the long-legged smart woman...we'll need pics please!

As an added bonus to pulling the flies, it's a great way to help you and your significant other become closer.  When you whack that throttle she will grab onto you like a spooked alley cat.  I know from first-hand experience.   Lol

Hey the back tires have 40,000 miles and the front tires have about 38,000 miles.  It's not like the front tire is off the ground all the time....... Just 10 or so times everytime I ride it.   Burnout

I traded my GSXR1000 in on a new Concours14 last summer.  Pretty smart decision.  Immediately rode from Dayton, Ohio to Niagara Falls, into Canada, then over to eastern most point of U.S.  - Eastport, ME.  Down the coast and back through PA to Gettysburg.  Then, back home.  All in 6 days.  Was a great ride - thank God for the Connie.  I never would have made it on the Gixxer.  I got a taller windscreen for it and that's about it.  Will upgrade the exahust this spring.  No troubles so far.  Doesn't have the kick of the Gixxer, but, is a lot more enjoyable to actually ride.  Congrats on your new parner (both of them).   BTW - 2x divorced.  Like you I finally got it right.
