I found a great deal for the HJC Symax II today - $129 with free shipping. Solid colors. Comes with internal visor.

No affiliation, just a good deal that I got.
Metallic Silver for me.

Got mine from Motorcyclegear, same price. I had to return the 1st to get a size up but so far, the 20 minute home test feels good. Smoker gave me the recommendation last year and for that deal, I couldn't turn it down.

The Symax II has been my primary brain bucket for the last year or so. For those of us who wear eyeglasses the internal visor is a dream. One of the bike magazines I get (can't remember which one) did a flip face comparison not too long ago and both the HJC Symax II and the Scorpion Exo 900 tied for first over some other more expensive models.

That's good news! I had a Nolan 102 for a season or two. Quality wasn't there as parts were falling off. Hope this is a little better but sounds like it already.

Both the newer Sy-Max II's and IS-Max's have the visors. I don't think his is 2-tone, so it may well be the Sy-Max II.

Wow! Almost 7 months to reply. You don't per chance work for the government do you?
Also since this thread was started I changed to the Scorpion EXO 900 and I have to say that I like is much better than the Symax II. For me anyway it's quieter and fits me better. I still have the Symax as my back-up though...it's a good helmet.

Only if you have a XS or SM head.
One note on this particular helmet - there is little/no room for mounting a bluetooth unit on the side. I had to stick mine on the flip-up part of the helmet after the bracket broke because it hung too low.

Having owned the Symax II for a year now I must say I'm not impressed. I owned the SY-Max before that and it was a fine cheap modular and the Symax II seems more strudy but is just as loud and heavy (I know, all modulars are heavy). HJC's are affordable but aren't up to the standards of Shoei and Arai.
IMHO you get what you pay for with HJC

FWIW, we just picked up a Bilt Demon modular for my girlfriend and it seems to be lighter than, and functionally equivalent to my Multitech (no internal visor). I haven't worn it yet to see how quiet it is, but she says it's fine, it feels steady in the air streams and it seems very well built. Metal latches and latch parts, etc. It was like
$70 at Cycle Gear
.
Interesting. I'll probably be replacing my HJC this winter and it's never too late to start "researching"

I have the IS modular and paid around $150 from Revzilla.
Not a big fan of the product. I mean, its find for a $150 helmet is that's all you're looking for.
HJC fits small:
I wear an XL in Shoei/KBC and XXL in Arai and Nolan. In HJC I wear a 3xl
Vents poorly unless you're in a 3/4 tuck. Not much venting in an upright riding position.
Modular lock mechanism does not seem solid.
Noisier than the KBC Modular I had previous.

Just wait till you need to remove the internal sun visor. The small tabs that hold the visor in the pull down mechanism broke - same thing happened on the wife's. $25 each to replace. What a joke ! I bought mine when it first came out a couple years ago - $274 each. I hope somebody from HJC checks forums to get real world feed back on thier products. Need less to say I'm disappointed. Sounds like a hell of a good way to keep the revenue stream open at $25 for every one of these POS that have to be replaced. Good luck
