What's the opinion around here?  Wife and I are seriously considering one, for her, but I would get to ride it occasionally.  Wink  Looks like a bike that would put a smile on!

About $1000 over the V7 Cafe, puts it at $10,400 OTD price.

Looks like a very cool and unique retro machine.   Thumbsup

However, it is available only through special order, and there are only 3-days left to order one, from what I've read.  So my opinion is you'd better get cracking on it.

Actually, the dealers, including the one in Tulsa that I have worked with, are the ones who have to order by end of Feb.  They are telling me if I want one reserved, they'll need $500 deposit now.  They are ordering 3 for sure, maybe 4.  One has already been reserved and if I push the button Saturday, they will go with ordering 4, leaving 2 for stock.  This is also what the guys from MPH and Haven said on Wildguzzi board.

My wife really liked the 2010 Thruxton SE, white with red stripes and frame, clip ons and rear sets, but those were all sold before she could get one.  Called around and they turned into unobtainium.  Now she sees this V7 Racer and thinks it fits what she wants, and who am I to object!

I prefer the standard V7 Classic.  This new version offers nothing more apart from a more uncomfortable riding position.

While I love my Thruxton's engine, the clip on bars are strictly for poseur value. I think having the Thruxton engine in a Bonneville chassis would be great for touring.

Not that I find the Thruxton uncomfortable but, on tight, narrow roads, the wider bars would be welcome over the clip ons.

Personally, I prefer the standard Classic with the Cafe seat over the Racer.  I'd spend the $1,000 on new pipes.

I thought there were also some hopped up suspension bits on the racer.
