Aftermarket Cans, not HD drag pipes

I know it's been beat to death but it's cold and raining and crappy out....so what's the verdict, waste of money or valuable addition?

I just put a 2 BR on one of my bikes. Already regret it, contacted them and got a 7-9 db reducer. I'll try it but if the jets and that don't make me really happy I'll be putting stock back on.

I'll admit I've got a set of aftermarkets on the 500, just for the weight reduction, Delkevics, pretty happy with them and the neighbors don't mind.

So in closing I guess it just depends.

So long as they're not horrifically loud pipes are a welcome addition to most any bike. Sound, hp/torque, looks and weight all get a boost. Now that 200 db glass shattering shit can take a hike.

I put a set of Tridents on my Sprint and never looked back.  No baffle in and a nice bark and at full throttle they wail.  Performance wise, maybe marginal difference by the ass dyno but they do feel sportier

On a carburated bike, a pipe and jet kit combo usually adds a good amount of power.

On fuel injected bikes a pipe usually adds a marginal amount of power. You can save some weight with a nice light weight pipe.

Or for the money spent on a pipe you could go get a gym membership, lose the beer gut and drop 3x or more the weight savings.....and get healthier all at the same time.

I still think the 5th gen VFR w/ a Staintune is one of the sexiest motorcycle sounds I've ever heard (that isn't a Ducati).
