It's been 3 months so I was eager to get back out there and crash again.  This ride I mamaged to dump it twice.  Im seriously considering buying something lighter and faster so I can do some more damage.
First, it's amazing what a few feet of snow will do to the earth.  It's like the snow suspends time and the landscape is held to it's exact appearance prior to the snow.  In this case, Fall.  It sort of like winter never happened.  The leaves are as they were shortly after falling from the trees. They were decomposing just enough for the tires to dig through to the soft sand below.
We did have  a pretty harsh winter and the trails reflected this.  I counted 20 downed trees before finally stopping to take a pic.

I found a train on some brand new tracks that lead to nowhere.  I smell a rat.

The trail led to a lake where a threesome was being negotiated by the local waterfowl.

I told myself to take it EASY.  Been a long winter, out of shape, 14 hour plane ride tomorrow, etc.
So I went out and crashed.
This wasn't much, more of a drop than a crash.  It's steep and sandy.  I thought I made it but the oil pan high centered on the tree roots.  I was exhausted getting the bike the last 2 feet.

I got within 50' of the street before crashing.  No pics of this one.  I was pretty pissed and knocked the wind out of me and I hit hit my head again.  I got in to some deep sand and was riding in the SUV tracks.  The front tire cocked sideways and I rode it this way for about a mile before it dumped me. Bigsmile

I want to hear more about the ratty train tracks. Where do they go? Truly "nowhere"??  Obviously you need to go back out there and find out!

The Tracks service the old Northorp grumman plant. When it was operational the tracks were not used. Now that it's closed the tracks were repaired and now a freight train is just sitting there.
Black helicopter shit for sure.

Have you thought about getting some better tires?    Just a thought.

I think I'm in the same boat on my DR.  I'm going to start looking for handle bars in three packs at the rate I'm dropping that sucker Lol  At least that seems to be the only damage on each drop. Well the bars and my bruised ego  Embarassment.

I've found bones but not of the human kind.
