The VFR has me itching to mod stuff but I am really not sure what to do. The heli bars seem like they'd make the ride a lot more comfy. So would dropping the pegs, although I am getting comfortable leaning and am hesitant to drop the pegs. Anyway, I think the one thing this bike really needs is some flashier wheels. I am thinking of a bronze anodize and an 8-spoker. It already has a two-brothers titan slip on, PC, throttle-meister, and smoked double-bubble screen.

So anyway, that's me.

PS: I wish I still had that Duc. It was sooo sexy sounding and I got looks and thumbs up all the time.


What brings me here is I keep seeing a RWB viffer around Mission Viejo and was wondering if that person was online here.

Congratulations!  Nice bike.  I like your CRX...what mods do you have on it?

I've been commuting on my RWB '07 VFR800 for the past month now and my commute is in and around Mission Viejo to Foothill Ranch and back.  I go home for lunch too so there is a good chance it's me you are seeing (not many RWB VFR's out there).  I've seen a white '06 and a red one.  

I've looked into aftermarket exhausts but the quiet OEM sound works great around here due to too many useless Sheriff moto-cop speed Nazis.  Plus, I do prefer the look of the OEM mufflers.  Since we're showing and telling, here's mine.  Looks just like yours!

Only when related to recurring failure to tighten the cap completely...or maybe you need a new cap.

Go it used with about 3400 miles on it. It was originally sold in March 2010 so it is really only 1 yr old lol.

The CRX is actually Oscar Jackson's old car. It is a Japanese right hand drive twin cam model imported in 1985. It is fully federalized which is pretty cool. Oscar did a full suspension on it including torsion bars, springs, shocks, and sway bars. He also turbocharged the car, and I have all that kit still. I took the turbo kit off because I needed to smog the car. It is a bit of a pet project. The TSX is more of a "work" vehicle (I smear it all over acurazine.com and tsxclub.com).

Glad to be in a bike community! Now I can get into forums for something not work related Smile

LOL!  I'll try to look for your TSX.  That's going to be tough since this area has Acuras running wild in the streets!  It's too bad you had to remove the turbo off the CRX.  CA smog rules are very restrictive.  Luckily, nothing like that for bikes.

Santa Margarita Pwy and Marguarite Pwy is copland!  There is always a dang Sheriff near that intersection.  I come out from Pacific Hills in MV and take Olympiad to Santa Maragarita Pwy.  It's like running the gauntlet there!  Sometimes they have two Sheriff's moto cops shooting fish in a barrel on Olympiad.  Unbelievable!  There are about three of us "bikers" who regularly commute on these roads.  One guy rides a Buell Lightning and the other on a Silver, blacked out, H-D 883 Sportster.   We see each other all the time since we all head out around the same time each morning and afternoon.  Sometimes me and the Buell guy ride along together for a bit.  LOL!

Congrats. Best colors on a motorcycle ever.  I'd say it's the most beautiful motorcycle but there's a Blackbird on the XX.org site painted in 07 VFR colors and it is.

 Been through those. If you ignore the error it will eventually clear, but it's kind of annoying. So far nobody can figure out why. Headscratch Damn cars are too smart for their own good. Lol It is a hoot to drive though for a FWD sedan. It freakin' rails.

 It's the girlfriend's car, and she lives down your way so I was hoping you had an idea.

I'm always sweating the cops in MV.  There are too many moto-cops with LIDAR in that city.  Too many!  My other problem is me.  I can't slow down!   Lol  Riding around in a VFR800 sure doesn't help me much.  I tried commuting on my Buell 1125R and it was game over.  That bike has tall gears, is lighter by a hundred pounds, and has 30 more horsepower, so it just goes!  Forget about 5th and 6th gear on that bike around MV!  The VFR800 is a better commuter anyway.

When the roads dry up around SoCal we'll head out.  I'm itching to ride and I'm just waiting for the weather and roads to clear.

Excellent observations on the VFR and since I still have my 07 RWB thought I would throw in my $.02. I prefer my 07 for commuting over the 01.

The slightly lower 1st gear of the 6th gen is perfect for ultra-smooth launches. Almost no clutch slippage just release and twist...love the seemless forward thrust. Short shifting up to speed is automatic transmission smooth. The daughter prefers pillion on the 6th gen because of this fact...but I am sure the RWB color scheme endears it to her as well.

I drilled openings in the top of the 4 pipes and the sound while riding is fantastic. It is nonexistent above 70 unless your are in Vtec but accelerating around town, under acceleration it has a wonderful, exotic sound that lures me into turning it further and holding it longer every time. Bigsmile It is muted enough to not be offensive.

The exhaust mod changed the character of the bike completely...for the better. It is still the smooth, classic Gentlemans Express it always was, just more engaging.

Late winter and spring in Florida has been special this year. Drought conditions and mild weather have allowed 1,500 motorcycle-mile months since February. Forget what kind of bike I am on. Motorcycling the last few months has been so good it hurts. Flying (without actually leaving the ground) on a modern motorcycle is so visceral and exciting...yet sophisticated and graceful at the same time...that it borders on sensory overload. I truly feel sorry for those who never get to experience a well-ridden motorcycle on a twisty road. One of the ultimate expressions of life.

@#$%mn VFRs...they always get me so philosophical. Time to head to the range.
