Would like some feedback on after market windshield for my 00 Concours.
Rifle, Cee Bailey, or other?
I'm about 6'1" - maybe a little more.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I had the Rifle with the 19" shield.
It was the definition of "still pocket of air"
The Rifle was the quietest shield with the smoothest airflow of any shield I've ever owned.
The downside to all that stillness, it could be quite stifling in summer's heat.

Is the vent in the Rifle not enough air flow?
I'd probably sacrifice the heat level for as much as the top of my head catches the wind with the stock shield.

The "vent" is only there to reduce back-pressure.
It provides only minimal ventilation at best.

I've been using the rifle system for the last 5 years.  It will get rid of pretty much all the buffeting the crappy stock one has on us taller riders.  It is warm tho on a hot day but I would never go back.

I had a standard height Rifle on my C-10 and was happy with it. Adding bar risers made it a little short but I was ok with it.  A 2" taller model might work better if you have risers.

Those bikes are HOT in the summer. No windshield will fix it...

I like my Cee Baily but do not remember the measurement. Vented but not a lot of help in the heat.

Back when I had my Connie I went a different route.  I bought a cheap Targa windshield and added an MRA spoiler to it.  Fully extended it gave me a quiet pocket but lowered it directed air to my head which was great in the summer.  I am 6 foot even.

I'm about 6'1", had the 17" (I think -- maybe 19") Rifle on my old Connie, thought it worked great. A lot of people had problems with spider cracks around the screws, though. When they say install them "finger tight," they're not kidding. I thought so many Rifles getting those spider cracks indicated a design flaw, but people seemed willing to live with it.

She's purring like a kitten Martin - she doesn't even mind 40 degree weather.
I even met Pete (who rode her while he was in AZ) at the R4 lunch Saturday.

How are you doing down in AZ?

That's cool.  I'm so glad you seem to be enjoying the Connie and she is being well taken care of.  Seeing your posts is like either getting a letter from a kid who has grown up and moved out.

I wrecked my Ninja about a month ago but am healing up nicely.  I hope to be able to ride (physically able and having a bike) before it gets ungodly hot here.

No cracks in mine whatsoever after 5 years of use.....however my screws holding the shield are finger tight and I make sure the screw will turn by hand once its installed.  It has never moved.

I ran the factory standard windshield  with a laminar lip.
No turbulence and you didn't cook any more in hot weather.
The looks take some getting used to but it is worth it imho.
Also it's cheaper than most aftermarket shields.

I bought my Conc with a massive Rifle screen on it, higher than my head.  I found that in rain it became reflective, so I took it to a glass shop to cut it down to chest height for ten bucks or so.  Worked fine for me.

I saw that laminar lip - but I wasn't sure what to think of it.
I need to bump the airflow up about 3"....it's hitting me right at the top of the visor.
Will that lip really move the air that much?

I'm 6'2" and after I put the Laminar Lip on I found myself riding with the visor open on my full face helmet in warm weather with no blast on the face.
I had standard handle bars with no risers.

I tried Cee Bailey, Cal Science, and Rifle. The Rifle was and still is the best windshield I have ever sat behind on any motorcycle.

I've tried many different windscreens on my C10 over the years. I was never happy with any of them including the Cee Bailey which I hated. My solution, I order Targa windscreens from Cycle Gear, same price as buying direct from Targa but if you have a Cycle Gear close by, you avoid shipping cost. I cut them down to different heights. I've been the most pleased with the screen cut down to a total height of 13 inches. I've been running this screen for over 2 years year round. I get good clean air, no buffeting, and the bike behaves very well in dirty air.
I'm not riding along in still air, but I've always thought Motorcycling was supposed to be a wind in your face experience.

I may try to cut a windshield down - I just hate having everything hit me in the top of the visor....fricking noisy and bounces my melon around pretty good at a "brisk" pace.
