So there I am checking out at Costco today, and low and behold, there's a 2011 Ninja 10-R on display. Yup... right next to the coffee grinders. Apparently the Costco "Auto" Program is offering 'big savings' on ALL 2011 Kawasaki Products (motorcycle or powersport products, that is). The bullets in question -

*Low member-only pricing on new 2011 Kawasaki models, including preorders on any 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle or powersport product

*$250 Costco Cash Card for completing a Costco Member Satisfaction Survey after purchase

PLUS: Costco members receive 20% off parts, accessories and apparel - even if you don't purchase (Sale items excluded)

Call now to save - for a participating dealer, call 1-877-560-2580 or visit costco.com and search: CAP7

Caveat: Promotion is only available in limited areas of Southern California (sorry, just saw that on the flyer)

So I'm thinking this is a pilot to test the waters. Hmmmmmm......

Yup - failed for me too - both as a guest and after logging in.

There was a flyer at the store which is where I got the text for the OP. In addition, the promotion is only available in limited areas of Southern California....

Are they gonna service motorcycles at Costco too? I could imagine if you brought your bike to a traditional dealer for some general or warranty service, and they find out you bought it at Costco... they'd spit in your gas-tank, or worse!   Lol

That's where the 'participating dealer' comes in. You might be buying from Costco, but you're getting delivery and service through a real dealer...

According to this Related article, Costco is only securing preferred pricing from nearby dealers, not selling the bikes per se.

Meanwhile you can buy Brammo Electric motorcycles direct from some Best Buys in CA.

I had a friend use the program and he was surprised that it worked really well.  He told me that he called the phone number and was referred to a dealer near him.  The dealer called him and set up an appointment to visit and when he arrived was shown the Costco pre negotiated price.  He was looking at the Concours and said the price he saw was around 1700 under msrp plus a 250 costco cash card with no haggling!

Sounds like a good deal for the dealers.  You buy at Costco, they get to deliver it at the dealer and collect the PDI fees.  They have you for most of the after sales sales at 20% off list.  Good deal for the dealers IMHO.  MA and Pa should be pretty happy unless they sell Yamaha or Suzuki or Honda.
