After installing my heated grips I ventured out for the first time.......felt pretty good. Roads up here are not so good..sand ......water......and massive frost heaves. Had to stand for a few of them. Bike maintained its composure every time. I've never had a bike with any wind protection so for me the Ninja 1000 was great. + or - ....40 degrees. Over the years I've owned a 06 Z1000 and a 99 ZRX1100

I imagine you are injoying the wind protection after owning those two bikes in that geographical location.
Beautiful bike and great picture, looks like you really did need the heat. Where was the picture taken?
Does the heat controller actually mount on the bike? can you take a pic and post it?
Thanks,
Scott

I took the seats off to see where I may steal power from. On the fuse box there is a accessory fuse. I looked around the instrument area looking for the leads. On the left side of the fairing I found a power and a ground ready to hook into. It was the accessory circuit that I had mentioned above. It was hot when the key switch is in the on position. I fitted the grips and hooked into those wires. There's a nice big space to tuck all the wires in on the fairing. The Heat-troller works different from the Oxford module. It modulates the power on and off from what I understand. This makes it more adjustable and reliable. The led on the controller will flash slow at lower settings and starts to be more of a steady burn at full power. Nothing that you would notice unless your looking straight at it. I can tell you they will crank on full. I found a good setting for the temps.

Excellent job Jeremy that looks really good, I appreciate you taking the time to take the pics and explain the install. I just may have to go that route myself.
I'm curious as to where that picture of your bike was taken and what is that place in the background?
