I have heard rumors at different bike events that there is a new big motor Daytona in the works?? Then I try to find something online and all I find is the new Trophy...anyone heard about a new generation Daytona or are the rumors confusing the new Trophy with the idea of a new Daytona?

It's a yearly rumor, had been a yearly rumor since the 1050 motor was released.  The only thing that changes is speculation on displacement.

I really doubt Triumph has any interest in making a liter+ super sport at this point, and a big-bore supercruiser like the K1300S or VFR1200 is a weak market too.  I'm sure they followed the "success" of the new VFR1200 very closely.

I heard it again recently in this form.  Triumph was caught testing a Ducati 1198 in Spain recently. The speculation is that they are benchmark testing it as part of a new superbike development.  Who knows?
