Just buy it and be cool. This place is in short supply of that.

He won't be back. He bought it and tried to sport tour on it already. Since it has no electrically adjustable windshield, like the mighty FJR, he probably disappeared in a puff of smoke.

They are SO sexy. I'd do some poking around at
http://www.mvagusta.net
for owner feedback.
Are you going to use it for the track? Do you really want a pure superbike? I thought from some of your posts that you are not that interested in riding super fast.

Make sure you keep the bike clean and wear some bitchin' leathers to go with it.
I'm sick of seeing fugly bikes covered in filth being ridden by fat doods in faded cordura gear with mismatched gloves and high viz helmets.
Don't they realize motorcycling is meant to be sexy?

I bought a Ducati 996 last fall. Love riding it. If there's not going to be stop and go traffic predicted, it gets the call nearly every time.
No back issues with it either, (so far max time on has been 4-6 hour rides.)

MV pulled all of their parts from the US so you have to get them from Italy. Also check the rear sprocket and do not over tighten it.They run rather warm in slow traffic, see upgraded impeller threads on the MV site.I still want a Brutale.Ride safe and have fun.

Ducati did that a while back and it vastly improved their parts availability.
I got a gas tank for my 800SS in under a week shipped from Italy.

Looks like somewhere between a Ducati Indiana and a Desmocideci. I'd say closer to a Desmocideci.

Ergos are supposed to be nearly identical to a 996.
That's what I've heard too. I think the 996 is pretty reasonable.

Huge congrats, falconati! That is one of the most beautiful bikes made today. I'd want to keep it in the living room, when I wasn't out riding it like a scalded cat. What's it like then?

Thanks gang - I'm really excited. Clearly the most expensive motorcycle I've ever purchased, but so far no buyers remorse
Initial impressions
Engine
: Italians can even make an I4 interesting. There's this amazing whirring noise as you accelerate - I can't describe it. At the same time as the whirring, there's a really loud growl (from both the engine and exhaust). I haven't cracked it over 7k yet, since there are only
350 miles on this lil fella
, but the torque really picks up at 5k, and it becomes a different animal. Redline is 12.5 or 13, so my guess is the best is yet to come.
Transmission
: Just great. Neutral was hard to find the first time, but after the transmission is warm, it's super easy. All shifts are positive and dropping gears feels satisfying (doesn't make that hideous 'clunk' noise). Not really a lot to say here...best gearbox I've ridden.
Suspension
: Jesus god. I might make some tweaks, but it feels like it's already set up for my weight. The ride is so much smoother than I expected. It eats up bumps in the road, even in aggressive, fully leaned over curves. This is what sold the bike yesterday - I simply couldn't have expected how amazing a well set up (overpriced) suspension makes everything.
Ergos
: Not as cramped as I imagined! I'm 6' and 150lbs and I stretched my legs once after an hour of riding. Definitely not a torture rack, but I wouldn't tour on this anyway, so I'm very pleased with them.
Exhaust note
: I presume I don't need to tell you that it's great. Regardless, it's great. Super-unique as I would expect, as Arrow made the stock exhaust.
Road-Holding
: Baller rubber on this guy. I haven't been able to get leaned over as far as I want, but it's not warm enough for me to feel comfortable pushing the limits of it's traction. If I bin this guy, I will legit cry, so I'm waiting until the weather is up another 10-20 degrees before I have a nice romp.
The details are really nice, and so far I'm pleased about this bike. The bad news is I'll need to get the first service done....as soon as possible!

I only now came across this thread ... Wow! I thought you were happily married to the S3, but if you can swing the F4, have a blast with it. At first I thought you were picking up a used one (hence the rush to decide), but a brand new one though, gotta be a good feeling.
Sweet bike - congrats!

You have started what will become a very expensive collection. You have a triple and I4 and now what you have to do is buy a twin of some sort and a thumper..... then a V4.... then a six.... then a rotary.... then a ....
p.s. Keep it exotic, i.e. non-Japanese*

I have actually already done that....only the opposite! Check out my ownership history!
BMW F650GS (1 cylinder)
Ducati ST3 (2 cylinders)
Triumph Speed Triple (3 cylinders)
MV Agusta F4 (4 cylinders)
I'd like to buy the ST3 in the for-sale section - that really was a sweet bike...I just really think I want an RT for the electronic cruise control

There's also the "Axis Powers" route...German/Austrian, Italian and Japanese. You could still do the increasing cylinders thing if you use Benelli for your Italian pick.

There's also the "Axis Powers" route...German/Austrian, Italian and Japanese. You could still do the increasing cylinders thing if you use Benelli for your Italian pick.

We went grocery shopping today!
....for one item, which I stored in my leather jacket
This thing is freaking sick. I don't know if I will ever be able to tolerate less than top-of-the-line brakes/suspension ever again.

OK, that bike is fantastic. The bodywork alone is so shapely that it melts your brain a little.
I know, it's racy and uncomfortable, blah, blah, blah. Who cares.
Even the little bitty pieces are sculpted perfection.
Congratulations, man. Nicely, nicely done.
Brilliant partered with the Speed Trip, too.
Enjoy every minute!

81 in a 55. 1 mph over the threshold. If he would have written me at 79, it wouldn't be an issue.
I was even upfront about speeding, my prior vehicle history, and answered every question he asked honestly. I don't understand how people in other states get any breaks - in Wisconsin, I've only ever gotten tickets.

Ask the prosecutor if they will make it a non-moving violation with you agreeing to pay the enhanced fine.If they don't go for that offer same payment deal on a regular speeding ticket.

Last one I got was in a car, and he got me for 61 in a 45.
I lawyered-up and after paying the ticket ($350 or so) and the lawyer ($750), it "never happened".
