He won't be back.  He bought it and tried to sport tour on it already.  Since it has no electrically adjustable windshield, like the mighty FJR, he probably disappeared in a puff of smoke.

They are SO sexy.  I'd do some poking around at http://www.mvagusta.net for owner feedback.

Are you going to use it for the track?  Do you really want a pure superbike?  I thought from some of your posts that you are not that interested in riding super fast.

Make sure you keep the bike clean and wear some bitchin' leathers to go with it.

I'm sick of seeing fugly bikes covered in filth being ridden by fat doods in faded cordura gear with mismatched gloves and high viz helmets.

Don't they realize motorcycling is meant to be sexy?

I bought a Ducati 996 last fall.  Love riding it.  If there's not going to be stop and go traffic predicted, it gets the call nearly every time.

No back issues with it either, (so far max time on has been  4-6 hour rides.)

MV pulled all of their parts from the US so you have to get them from Italy. Also check the rear sprocket and do not over tighten it.They run rather warm in slow traffic, see upgraded impeller threads on the MV site.I still want a Brutale.Ride safe and have fun.

Ducati did that a while back and it vastly improved their parts availability.
I got a gas tank for my 800SS  in under a week shipped from Italy.

So it's agreed: we're changing the location of the Nationals this year to Falconati's place for test rides and beer?

Thanks gang - I'm really excited.  Clearly the most expensive motorcycle I've ever purchased, but so far no buyers remorse  Bigsmile

Initial impressions

Engine: Italians can even make an I4 interesting.  There's this amazing whirring noise as you accelerate - I can't describe it.  At the same time as the whirring, there's a really loud growl (from both the engine and exhaust).  I haven't cracked it over 7k yet, since there are only 350 miles on this lil fella, but the torque really picks up at 5k, and it becomes a different animal.  Redline is 12.5 or 13, so my guess is the best is yet to come.

Transmission: Just great.  Neutral was hard to find the first time, but after the transmission is warm, it's super easy.  All shifts are positive and dropping gears feels satisfying (doesn't make that hideous 'clunk' noise).  Not really a lot to say here...best gearbox I've ridden.

Suspension: Jesus god.  I might make some tweaks, but it feels like it's already set up for my weight.  The ride is so much smoother than I expected.  It eats up bumps in the road, even in aggressive, fully leaned over curves.  This is what sold the bike yesterday - I simply couldn't have expected how amazing a well set up (overpriced) suspension makes everything.

Ergos: Not as cramped as I imagined!  I'm 6' and 150lbs and I stretched my legs once after an hour of riding.  Definitely not a torture rack, but I wouldn't tour on this anyway, so I'm very pleased with them.

Exhaust note: I presume I don't need to tell you that it's great.  Regardless, it's great.  Super-unique as I would expect, as Arrow made the stock exhaust.

Road-Holding: Baller rubber on this guy.  I haven't been able to get leaned over as far as I want, but it's not warm enough for me to feel comfortable pushing the limits of it's traction.  If I bin this guy, I will legit cry, so I'm waiting until the weather is up another 10-20 degrees before I have a nice romp.

The details are really nice, and so far I'm pleased about this bike.  The bad news is I'll need to get the first service done....as soon as possible!

I only now came across this thread ... Wow! I thought you were happily married to the S3, but if you can swing the F4, have a blast with it. At first I thought you were picking up a used one (hence the rush to decide), but a brand new one though, gotta be a good feeling.

I know, it's racy and uncomfortable, blah, blah, blah.  Who cares.   Inlove   Banana Even the little bitty pieces are sculpted perfection.

The grocery store was the quick stop on the way out to the country to my brother's farm, on a 1.5 hour frolic through LEO-less roads  Bigok

We went grocery shopping today!

....for one item, which I stored in my leather jacket  Embarassment

This thing is freaking sick.  I don't know if I will ever be able to tolerate less than top-of-the-line brakes/suspension ever again.

Jeff, that bike is a thing of beauty.

Did you get pulled over for not having hard luggage or a Russell DayLong seat?

So much for the LEO-less roads. Sad They must be gearing up for TWiSTAR this weekend.

81 in a 55.  1 mph over the threshold.  If he would have written me at 79, it wouldn't be an issue.

I was even upfront about speeding, my prior vehicle history, and answered every question he asked honestly.  I don't understand how people in other states get any breaks - in Wisconsin, I've only ever gotten tickets.

81 in a 55 would be holding up rush hour traffic with my old commute.

Ask the prosecutor if they will make it a non-moving violation with you agreeing to pay the enhanced fine.If they don't go for that offer same payment deal on a regular speeding ticket.

Last one I got was in a car, and he got me for 61 in a 45.

I lawyered-up and after paying the ticket ($350 or so) and the lawyer ($750), it "never happened".
