Anybody seen my spare FJR keys? county...?
After being unable to locate the spare keys for literally a week, the keys were located within minutes of invoking the name "county", patron saint of the FJR, the touring bike that thinks it's a sport bike
I will celebrate by working on the minitard.

I've lost keys on road trips before. And then realized they were in the ignition.

I lost a key on a roadtrip before... and then realized it was in the Rio Grande.
Had to wade around feeling around with my feet for a good half hour b/f my buddy found them doing the same.
I "lose" keys all the time, then find them in the seat release or had bag.

Not the sort of thing I would tell folks about. Someone might go looking.

Most of the time I find the lost key in the "wrong" pocket.

I've done that.
Usually the seat-release for me. But once in a while they stay in the ignition.

Seat release, almost every time -- during a 5-day tour with some friends, they got to where they would pull the keys out of the seat release and put em in the ignition for me -- leaving the keys in the seat release was termed "doing a bomber," as in, I lost my keys -- I musta done a bomber."
This statement works on several levels.

They say it's ok to walk around the house looking for your car keys, while they are in your hand, so long as when you see them you know what they are

I've done that.
I hardly ever take mine out of the ignition. All the bike keys are on their own fobs and always stay in the ignition. On trips obviously you remove it but I always have a spare in my jacket.
This is no shit, on a ride once a person went to use the porta potty. She returned to her bike, no keys. Hummmm flash light aim at the mounds of poo showed nothing. Flashlight and a stick stirring the mounds of poo produced a set of keys. Best part was they fit her bike.
