My first BMW

just bought a new to me 2007 r1200rt.  Looking forward to taking this thing out for a long ride.  Unfortunately, the first ride is being held up by the bureaucracy of trying to import a bike into Canada.  Oh well, it'll work out eventually (after a hit to the wallet).

I still can't get over the amazing fit and finish of these BMW's. especially the paint.

Anyone else in Vancouver, BC or nearby?

Congrats on your first BMW!  The brand has quite a following, I think for a reason.  The bikes also have their idiosyncrasies, which in some, but not all respects, adds to the charm.

I'm located a couple hours south of Vancouver, but don't get up that way very often since we sold the boat.  Really need to look at doing some more riding up North. Might make a return to the Kootenay Borscht, Burn and BBQ in Castlegar BC.  On the same weekend, Washington State BMW Riders are having a rally July 21-24 in Republic, Washington for a more BMW specific event.

Just bought my first as well, older 2002 K1200rs though.  Hope we both enjoy ours lol

If I could afford it I think I'd have a R1200RT as well, in addition to something smaller and sportier.  Best of luck and enjoy!
