...and for all the usual reasons.

Not 2 months ago, I bought a new to me 2007 Speed Triple to sit beside the mighty Tiger.  Now, this comes up on my local CL, not 20 minutes from me (there aren't many of these here, from what I can tell, but I love them and have wanted one since I laid eyes on it.  Much like the S3 and the Tiger).  My wife is going to leave me.  I think I'll have a beer and contemplate single life.  Lol

Buy the 'bird, get some luggage, sell the Tiger.  Long distance comfort missile, shorter-hop high-bar hooligan.  The Tiger would be redundant in that lineup, and probably the least used once you had all three.

Wife gets all the money in divorce settlement.  Poster has to sell all bikes and then moves in with aging parents.  Has no money to date, drink beer, ride or live.

Wife moves in with 20 year old biker and buys him a new Harley.

Sure you can.  It's too heavy to be a sportbike, and not comfortable enough to be a sport-touring bike.

PLUS, the windscreen is not electrically adjustable on-the-fly.

Another happy BB owner checking in.....     Bigok

There's better bikes for anything you contemplate doing with the BB. However, there's nothing else quite like it.

The big engine gives it cred with the squids, the counter-balanced engine and sporty handling gets knowing nods from the touring folks, its 2-up proficiency is the envy of sport-bikers.

It's definitely a bike that's better being ridden than being compared in any category. Everything the BB does, there's another bike that does it better. It's a second-rate tourer, a second-rate sportbike, a second-rate speed bike, a second-rate drag bike, a second-rate commuting bike, and a third-rate boulevard cruiser. But when you step away from it a little and think about it, there's not many bikes than can even be CONSIDERED in so many categories. And in each of those categories, the BB finds some little niche where it can stand out. It's not as good overall as other options, but whatever you're thinking of doing with it, when you stack it up against the competition, even bikes that are 15 years newer, it still always seems to at least have _something_ going for it. And in the motorcycle world where every new bike quickly becomes yesterday's news, that's actually saying quite a lot.

The design is 15 years old yet still very modern. And they are reliable. And they're pretty darned cheap to buy. I could envision buying lots of other bikes to take its place, but none of them can be had for anything near this cheap. And not many of those will age as well as the BB has.
