I had a K7 SV650S very briefly before deciding that I didn't want to go through all the hassle to make it comfortable for me (6'2").  On one tank of mostly highway riding +25 miles of backroads with some WOT, I got 62 mpg.  Best I've ever gotten from a "full size" motorcycle.

I've been in the 50's on my Duck several times.

Track day was in the 20's for mpg if I remember...

On my EX500 i get 55 to 60 mph.

my best mileage was 112mpg on my yamaha RS100B. back then though you didn't care about mileage except to know when to fill up. cb750 nighthawk 34-36, cbr 1000rr 36-38, hypermotard 40-42, FJR 44-46, multistrda 1200s 44-46, te610 65-67. the best is the FJR because it gets good mileage and power on regular. the nighthawk runs on regular but gets crappy mileage and has the same power as the RS100B. its been a solid bike though and makes a good buddy bike. i ride it about once a month to remind myself how nice i have it.

I think I got 42 a couple times when droning on the slab in 6th gear at the speed limit, but I hover in the high 30s with that bike most of the time.

My naked K6 SV650 was getting 40mpg on the commute down the expressways (85 indicated, etc.). I added a top case and it went to 43mpg on the same commute. It does 50+ mpg when I'm out riding on a trip.

I remember seeing 53MPG on my Sprint, but that was before the pipe and engine work.

I've seen close to 60 mpg on my 919, but that was when I was riding behind my buddy on his Nomad.  When I'm alone, it is a much different story.

Actually, this had more to do with being within the first few fill-ups that I recorded on Fuelly, so I could actually see what I'm getting. I don't really care about fuel prices. My car gets 30mpg, the bikes always get North of that. All the people I know with big SUVs and trucks are complaining. Not me.  

During the preview few tanks, I disconnected the battery several times, so I lost the trip mileage.

That annoys me.  

So get a less modern bike with a mechanical trip meter.

I'm lucky to get above 38 on the Sprint.  That 1 tooth difference in the front sprocket screwed me out of about 5 miles/gallon.

That's good mileage. My wife gets about that on her SV650S. I would love to get rid of my Versys and get another SV650 for myself. To bad the Versys resale is so bad.

MY FZ6 returned 55 mpg regularly. Got as high as 59 when trying, 42 when not. The GS has hit 50 once, 45 most of the time, 38 when really not trying. Still beats 19 in the Jeep, less when plowing snow.
